Can units deploy in buildings? I don't see permission for anything other than warmachines. What page?

Yea they can, GW just does a bad job of stating it in the BRB. I think it is also funny that they clearly state that a war machine can not deploy into a building with a roof on it lol.

Right, the blurb on pg. 109 allows you to deploy a war machine in a building, but I don't see anything that let's you deploy other units in a building.

I'm not sure if this helps or not but on Pg.433 under Opening Moves it describes JJ moving his bowmen to the building to garrison it rather than just starting the game with them in it. Although, I'm not sure if the building was in the deployment zone or not, so that could have affected it.

You have permission to deploy anywhere in your deployment zone that is not impassable terrain.
Is the building impassable? No? then you can deploy in there.
You are looking for specific permission when the general permission is sufficient. Do you also look for specific permission to deploy in forests? How about in a marsh? Or up against a blessed bulwark?

The difference is that a building can straddle the deployment zone and once you are in a building, you are considered to be in all of it. Those other terrain features do not act like that.
So, do you have permission to deploy in a building that straddles the deployment zone?

No, because you have then deployed outside if your deployment zone. See rules on measuring to units - if I can measure to your unit and find ti is outside your deployment zone, you have illegally deployed.
Still no difference to deploying normally

Would have been nice if they had made this a little more clear though, rather than inference from deployment zones.
Your take is that if any part of a building is outside of the deployment zone, you can't deploy in it, but otherwise you can.

Yes - because you count as occupying all parts of the building, meaning I can, during deployment, prove that you are "outside" your deployment zone if you are in a building that has elements outside deployment.
