Hey everyone, I bought a bulk load of random figures from ebay, and I was hoping someone could tell me who these two are;

Are they part of a set? If so, who am I missing?

Cheers guys

SM command squad. Teh first one is standard bearer w/ apothecary backpack, the second is company champion. You are missing aphotecary and vets.

Ah, in the meantime, I've found these guys, and because of their distinctive shoulder markings, I'm sure they are in the squad.

Are their any conversions that you'd recommend I'd do to them? Anything not codex legal, or that you think would improve the squad?
Advice is greatly appreciated.

Yep they're probably in the squad as those parts are from the same box.

Thanks a lot guys.

Are there any modifications I should make?

Two chainswords is technically illegal, you can't double a single piece of wargear IIRC. And there's no point to it anyway, may as well give him a bolt pistol if you want the same number of CC attacks, plus a ranged attack, or a boltgun if you want one fewer attacks but a rapid fire profile, give him a boltgun.

Points cost should be the same.

Back in 2nd edition, two chainswords was legal, and gave two parries in assault, which was very useful.

Sure, but I assume we're wanting to update these for 5th edition, yes?

It's not too uncommon for people to mix the weapons up a little in squads... so while the models technically have a bolt pistol and chainsword, they'll put two chainswords or (as in the case of the next model over in that pic) two bolt pistols on, just for show.

The only real issue I see here is the apothecary backpack on the standard bearer.

IIRC, the actual Apothecary's Narthecium (the spelling of which I probably just butchered) is wrist-mounted, is it not? I thought the backpack was always for show, unless that searchlight actually does something regarding Night Fighting rules. I honestly can't remember.

There is a set of cables that run along the arm and to the back and presumably INTO the backpack, where the various medic stuff is kept (transfusables, etc).
The saw and drill are for getting through troublesome bent&buckled armour plates first so that the medical aid can be administered.

Apothecaries never had searchlights for night fight purposes.

Fair enough, I stand corrected.
