Hi all.
In the IG codex on the entry of the infantry platoon in the infantry squads that one guardsman may take whatever option such as flamer, melta gun, plasma gun, grenade launcher or sniper rifle. Does this mean that only one guards man can take a weapon out of the list or can there be only one of each. If it is the earlier option why does it give you the possibility of making two guardsmen armed with a flamer and a grenade launcher in the cadian shock trooper box.

Infantry Squads may have One Guardsman upgraded with any of the listed weapons. Only one. The reason you are given more than one weapon is so that you don't have to scratchbuild the other one if you'd rather use it. If you look, you'll notice that there are 10 lasgun arms, so you could just give them all lasguns if you really wanted to.

Unless of course, you're referring to the box that came with 20 guys, in which case, it's two squads and you follow the logic above as well.

And, of course, veteran squads can have three specials so all those flamer and grenade launcher arms may come in handy.
