I don't have my 8th edition rulebook yet (waiting for the mini ones to be released), but last I skimmed through it the War Banner (+1 combat res) magic banner was not in it as a common item. This item is listed as a common item in my Dark Elf Army Book and I didn't see that it was errata'd out by the updates. Can I still purchase and use this banner? Even if I can, is it still worth doing?

If it is in your army book, you can still buy it at that cost. As it happens, the war banner is in the BRB, but at 35 points. DEs can still get it for 25. I generally find it isn't worth it.

Well the problem is that combat res isn't what it used to be, with so much stubborn/steadfast around.

I typically like to take 2-3 more models! That aside, the new razor standard is pretty nice. And a few banners here and there in each individual book.

Razor standard on horde witch elves is nasty.....

Flaming attacks banner is pretty useful with most armies.

Terror banner is hysterical at times. Opponents often forget its there even if you point it out to them, because they are unfamiliar with seeing it right now.

Why not stick to Banner of Murder? Same thing, 20 points cheaper, unless I'm missing something...

you have more than one unit of witches, right?

I was quite surprised about how the new common magic items were all really mean to flyers and flaming attacks...
