Well, in an effort to get myself back on focus, I have decided to take the plunge, and make a P&M Blog about my 1st war-gaming army, an Imperial Guard mechanized force (the initial concept/fluff is detailed
HERE
I must admit, I have a bit of a problem. I enjoy the modeling (i.e. building the models themselves) much more than the painting. I therefore tend to get carried away, and build a complete model without any regard as to how I am supposed to paint the now inaccessible parts. So I'll force myself to paint (an aspect that isn't as bad as I thought it would be, at least with the tanks) using this blog.
I will post a picture of my one completed (for the most part) model, a Chimera, tomorrow, as it is now completely dark here in San Jose, California, and I prefer natural lighting.
As the soon to come (approx. 10hrs as of this writing) picture will demonstrate, the inspiration for my color scheme is/was the general method of painting naval vessels, specifically circa ww2 (i.e. primarily drab grey with a strip of red along the bottom). Also, a book. Or rather a series of books. Science fiction, good read, the Destroyermen series (author:Taylor Anderson). I even intend to name my to standard Leman Russ MBTs
Walker and
Mahon. I'll have to play a couple games to see which one dies more/faster in order to decide which tank gets what name. Anyone who has read the series may know what I am rambling on about.
Oh yeah, I have tendency to ramble as well. And no, I refuse to edit my ramblings out.
Well, I guess thats it for now.
Oh wait. I do have a question, does anyone know the purpose for the red portion at the bottom of those navy ships? I never bothered to look it up, and now its really bugging me.
NOW thats it.
