Impassive Inquisitorial Interrogator
|
In an interview with THQ's Danny Bilson, a bunch of new info came out. That guy loves to talk, bless his soul.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-08-17-thq-on-everything-interview?page=1
Highlights:
Dark Millenium is 2 years out. Will likely have a beta, and will feature not only multiple different Space Marine Chapters (Dark Angels, probably Wolves), but the Inquisition as well.
Dawn of War II: Retribution: Confirmation on single player for all races. New race will be announced at Gamescom. Will ship in February.
And, Dawn of War III is a WiP. Hints are making it more MMO-like. Looks like he's hinting at persistant online campaigns.

DoWIII worries me. It's been mentioned that it would be "free" but with microtransactions, a word which, after playing so many korean MMOs, makes me want to stab someone repeatedly in the face.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

He stated that it has the potential to be like "Company of Heroes: Online". They haven't gotten to any real point of being able to confirm things one way or another.

The mention of microtransactions possibly being included in the game worries me as well though at this point not much we can do but wait and see.

My armor is contempt. My shield is disgust. My sword is hatred. In the emperor's name, let none survive.

The microtransation in many newer MMO games seems to be the new money making trend.

The thing I find interesting about this is that it's the first time they've stopped dancing around and actually said there would be enemies other than orks in Space Marine. They've implied it before, but this is the conformation.
