Rumor has it at my local hobby shop that the orcs and goblins are going to be getting a new codex next year. Any one out there hear the same thing?

At best, they will get an army book, not a Codex. Chances are high that they are the next army book, rumours hinting at that for quite some time, but nothing concrete at the moment justifying a thread.

BTW starting threads just to ask for rumours is considered a breach of forum rules and often gets unfriendly reactions by people lured into such threads wthout news&rumours.

As kroothawk said, it'll be an army book, not a codex.
Aside from that, there's been a few threads about it in the last months, try using the search function from now on.
