Subject: Are fully painted armies selling very well right now?

First off, sorry if there is a better forum for this but GENERAL seemed the best fit.
I am entertaining putting my fully painted CSM army up for sale, on Ebay and otherwise but I was just curious if anyone had any recent experience with selling full, entirely painted armies in one large lot?
It is the Emperor's Children CSM army I have in my Dakka gallery and I have put years of work and tons of $$ into but I just don't see myself playing with it as it was more fun to build and paint than to actually USE. It's got lots of FW and almost every fig is converted and customized but I am also realistic and won't expect to get rich off it. Thoughts, opinions, experiences please?

Depends on how you sell it, Ebay its parted out and maybe you get back more than you paid for it. Sell it to another player at your gaming store, there is a chance of getting more, no garantee but its the best way. I at one time had 6 fully painted armies, I gave away 3 to start new players, friends of mine. Sold 2 and made money, and bulked up my Chaos force some with profits. Now I got 10,000 pts and some change in my force and would never sell them. As I play many other games were I use them such as Palladium Rifts. But if you should sell quote a price here for what you have and see what happens, how many points and what do you have. To me its $2-3 a fig primed, $5+ each if painted, $15-25 for vehicles, Units can go as far as $100 each, Demons start $25 and up. Hope that helps...for Chaos, depending on who wants what.

Thanks for the response. I thought of selling it as squads on Ebay but then thought about the fact that the entire army is so thematic that while the Noise Marines (around 30-40 with sonic weapons) would sell well. The EC painted Raptors or Plague Marines might never go anywhere.

This is the army I am talking about, I have probably almost 3k in points painted plus lots of unpainted stuff that is converted for a total of around 5k or more.
I just see lots of painted armies on Ebay that have ZERO bids, I don't want to give it away, but I also don't want to price it out of realistic limits.

a painted army like that I have seen go for $200-500 if sold through a store, but the store charges a % and does not always advertise your army and sell there bubble packs and box sets if you do not look in the store sale case.

That army is sweeeeet
You should have no probs getting a decent price for them .
one tip - make sure you have REALLY good pictures of them posted on e-bay - a buddy of mine sells regularly and he says a good pic can increase the selling price , just as a bad one will drop the price :(
On a separate point - VERY nice paint job on them 10 / 10

Thanks for the input guys. I REALLY hate to sell it at all but I have some serious financial issues I must resolve so anything I can live without is going "on the block".
