There's an 1850 tournament this weekend that will be filled with Blood Angels, Space Wolves and Tyranids with the random Vanilla Marines, Tau, and I think an IG player. How do you think this list would do?

Swarmlord - 280
Tyrant Guard - Lash Whips - 65

2x Hive Guard - 100
2x Hive Guard - 100
2x Zoanthrope - 120

7x Genestealers - Toxin Sacs - 119
7x Genestealers - Toxin Sacs - 119
10x Termagants - 50
Tervigon - Adrenal Glands, Toxin Sacs, Catalyst - 195

4x Shrikes - Dual Boneswords, Toxin Sacs, Adrenal Glands - 220

Trygon - Adrenal Glands - 210
Trygon - Adrenal Glands - 210

Total: 1788

I have 62 points to play with and I'm not entirely sure where to put them. I'm thinking I have a few options: Spore Pod for Zoeys, double Regen on Trygons or Tervigon, or buff up Genestealer or Termagant squads. I could also find somewhere to trim points and use the trimmed points combined with the 62 extra to do something.

I know the Shrikes are kind of iffy to most people but they've done beautifully for me plenty of times. They are wonderful at clearing out Marines, Monstrous Creatures, and pretty much anything else relying on armor and toughness to save them. I've found that combining both Toxin Sacs and Adrenal Glands allows them to go after anything I need them to. Charging at I5 means Marines and Trygons don't get to strike back and poison on S5 is a big threat to pretty much all infantry in the game and good enough to cause wounds on anything T6 or better.

I think the Swarmlord's capabilities will really come into play with this list. Between Tervigon and Swarmlord buffs/debuffs, even Termagants can become a major threat on the charge.

Edit: Also, I want to keep the Swarmlord and Shrikes because I love my conversions for them and want to show them off.

Your list has a lot of similarities to my 3k list. I build/employ mine a bit differently though. I use a 6 man squad with scytals, rending claws, and toxin sacs screened by a 24 man squad of maxed gargs. I'll use the shrikes for light vehicle hunting and additional cc punch for the gargs. I usually run side by side with that with a flyrant and a second squad of gargs. I usually have enough nasty stuff pressing in on the opponent the the shrikes go untouched till turn 4 or so, by which time they've usually done thier job.

Wow, six Shrikes? Well, that does make sense considering wings and warriors both come in packs of three.

I think gargoyles would be handy, but I don't have the models. Since the hive guard are on the list of things to buy right now I'm going to refrain from other purchases.

Speaking of models, it turns out I don't have enough Termagants to comfortably field two Tervigons. If one lasted three rounds, or both for two, I'd run out of little guys!

This isn't too bad of a thing, though. I felt my prior list was really too thin and light on immediate threats. With the 205 points gained from swapping out the extra Tervi and corresponding termagants I can reinvest in something to draw a little fire.

I must say I agree that two Tervigons are exponentially greater than 1. I would take both and risk running out of Termagaunts, especially since chances are one will get clogged up in the first two rounds anyway, at least that's what I always see happen...

I think this looks good. Just dont clog up both tervigons in turn 1 and you should be good to go.

Pretty solid list. if you are worried about termaguant models, maybe buff up some genestealers or something

Edited the original post, changed up my list to take into account that I'll only be running one Tervigon.

imho, zoanthrops are too slow to be effective... I'd pod them down to take out heavy stuff...

That's probably what I'll end up doing with my spare points. It would be nice to immob or destroy a pesky land raider full of angry termies on the other side of the board where it belongs.
