OK, so I was flicking through my GK codex which I downloaded from the GW website, and i saw this:
"another strength of the daemonhunters army list is the ease with which it can be integrated with existing armies. if you already have an imperial army such as the imperial guard or the space marines, , it can easily be incorporated into the daemonhunters list. for instance, a space marine player may choose to lead his force into battle with a grey knight grand master and his retinue of terminators...conversely we allow rules that allow the opponennt to take packs of daemons in thier force..."
is this still legal in the 5th ed.?

if so, it'll make this army so much cheaper to buy...

It is grudging legal in 5th edition for a few months more, until Grey Knights get a new Codex probably next January.

why not have Evisorator flailing GKs?

Brother Captains and GKGMs can get evisorators and so can justicars(if they purchase Artificer armor first that is)

Your question was answered - however the downloadable dex does NOT have the actual ally rules in it, you must buy the paper copy for that. For example you have restrictions on what units you can purchase, etc.

You probably need to have registered, quite a few items are absent unless you are logged into the site.

As said - if you plan to ally you will need the Paper copy of the codex, as this actually has the rules for allies within it.

Hopefully they just make one big one called Inquisitional Forces

GKs will be getting their own book(like how it was to begin with)

they may or may not combine the Inquisition into one codex.

more likely, because hardly anyone plays inquisition themed, they will make Codex: SoB after Codex: GKs and the inquisition becomes part of the next Guard codex OR gets squatted.

And why do you think that is? Because GW didn't make any Plastic Models and gave them poor rules.

Not to mention that point for point most of them are now much less value per point. When sisters get their 40pt immolator and storm troopers get their 55pts chimeras (not to mention a price drop or better weapons) we'll see shed loads of players, metal or not.

To be fair, if the rules stay how the are now, 40 points for an Immolator is a little too low. A BA Razorback can do the same as the Immolator but for more points, although it does get the option to go flat out.

I would say 45 Points is fair, so long as it keeps the move 12" and fire rule.

SoB and GKs don't have any plastic yet lots of people play them(relativly speaking)

i would guess that 95% of DH and WH sales are in GKs and SoB models.

and that other 5% is 2% Guard players buying the ISTs because the sculpts are cool. and 2% is Guard players buying Inquisitors, Mystics, and Assaissins for their Guard armies.

as a GK player i only proxy Inquisitors when i feel like trying an assaissin out.

It all makes sense. Assassin are a points sink and unless you know what you're doing will do nothing for you.

There is only one assassin to take (in 5th) the Callidus Assassin, she moves a unit out of position, can be placed any where, with no scatter, and has a Str8 AP1 flamer (Vs Ld rather then toughness). You'll be hard pressed for her not to earn her points back.

The inquisitors them selves can be thought of as special/Heavy weapons teams with added rules. DH can take mystics that give you a chance to shoot all DSing models. WH can ignores the first wound he takes turn.

(gah my spelling)
