figured i'd start up one of these, it part because i'm hoping keeping it updated will motivate me to paint more

to start-Trollblood
these guys were painted about a year and a half ago, after i'd taken a goodly amount of time off from painting, looking over the pics, i notice stuff i'm gonna go back and fix now that i'm less out of practice

these guys i need to go touch up details, and add some highlights and washes in some areas, but overall i'm happy with them. as you can see, i've went with a more bluish skintone to my warlock then the studio paintjob

gotta tone down the white of the fingernails and teeth for these guys, and do some highlights/washes to make things pop a bit more

not a lot i feel the need to fix on him, beyond a few touchups where a wash dried badly, and a spot or two i hit in the wrong area while drybrushing, and again, toning down the whites on the nails/teeth

some touchup still needed, and i might pick out some more detail

i mainly just need to finish up this squad

Goblins

decided to change things up a bit with my night goblins, still got to hit the robes up with a few washes, and figure out how i'm going to base them. not sure why, but the pic came out kinda shiny, though they're really not in person

Terrain-

just something i've been knocking together in bits of free time, i figure its maybe half complete-i've been using a combination of white glue/superglue to get a texture effect i rather like, i figure i'll paint it to either look nurglish, or like some kind of strange mold/corruption is spreading

so yea, thats what i've got to put up for now, i'll try and get some pics taken of the few csm i've gotten around to painting, and hopefully motivate myself enough to paint more and keep this thread alive and interesting

(note-gonna need to retake some pics, the colors didn't come out quite right in a few)

Love the vibrant blue on the trollbloods!

Not so sold on the terrain though, don't really get what it is? Statue/computer/defence platform thing?

yea, i was kinda just sticking bits together, i'm thinking i might harvest the bits and start over with a better plan in mind-and not watch distracting cartoons

harvested the good bits back from that other terrain piece, and built a new one in my free time

wip-

painted-

based-mostly done, just need to touch up the edges of the plastic i built it on

i tried to keep this generic enough that i could use it for 40k or fantasy, my take on some cultist site trying to brew illness like papa nurgle
made the pot out of a paint lid, the bubblyness in it is from gorilla glue that i let bubble up-
the effect on the ground was achieved by my latest efforts in combining white glue with superglue

overall, i'm happy with it, its the first real piece of terrain i've put together from start to finish and been satisfied with
i somewhat wish i'd added more areas of the green corruption on the ground, and arranged things in the pot to show more (more bones and limbs and whatnot)

Denial

The green vat of goo with graveyard cobblestone is creepy as hell good job.

When you say let the gorilla glue bubble up...Elaborate...How and with what like a McDonald coffee straw or something?

"Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Statement: This definition, I am told, is subject to interpretation. Obviously, love is a matter of odds. Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and fewer would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticle, and together, achieving a singular purpose, against statistically long odds." ~ HK-47

as gorilla glue dries, it expands and fills with air bubbles if you don't have some kind of weight on it. so i basically poured a bit of the gorilla glue, let it start to expand, and then shaped it a bit with my fingers to get it to go where i wanted it to.
