Hi all.

I've been charged with trying to value my friend's edition of the early 90's miniature wargame 'Doctor Who Invasion Earth' produced by Harlequin Miniatures. I've read general info on the web that indicates it could fetch £100-£200 or even more from the right buyer. Does anyone know any good websites to try and get the game valued or does anyone want to buy it?

The game is in good condition and contains all the Daleks and all the UNIT soldiers (one has had the barrel of his assault rile snapped off, but apart from that they are all in tip top condition). It also contains a model of the Dr's assistant from the Sylvester MacCoy years (think her name was 'Mac' or something). There is no Dr miniature, but according to the information on the web the boxed set did not include The Dr. It has all the original rule books and paperwork with it, even one of the old Harlequin Miniatures promotional pamphlets advertising their other models, and one card ruined building. Some of the UNIT soldiers and Daleks have been painted, but I can assure you they are to a good standard.
Will try to get some photos up soon.

So can anyone help me with a valuation/auction website? If you are interested in buying the game send me a pm.

Thanks.

All the Daleks have been painted the same.

I personally doubt a valuation of £100-200 that seems very optimistic. I have the game, it came with 6 UNIT troops and 4 Daleks if I recall correctly. But these figures and rules are currently available from Blacktree miniatures. So you'd be paying for the unique element of the buildings, templates and box. The figures alone will not reach £100-200 although they are rare and worth money, particularly the Daleks if you look at eBay. I could be wrong and it might have collector value to Doctor Who fans, but I am a fan and not aware of that level of interest.

To be honest H-A-Treesong is pretty much spot on with his assessment.

Also

The box is not in particularly good condition.

The minis are painted (and not all of them are there) which is a particular turn-off.

The rule set and similar minis are available elsewhere so you would need a Doctor Who fan or gaming fan who is desperate for some or all of the above components.

The Daleks may be of interest but I wouldn't think that £100 is on the cards.

Thanks for the feedback. Bit of a let down though, thought sure it'd get around the £100 mark. I couldn't find the exact same thing on websites, only info on similar suppliments for the game and collections of the miniatures (I noticed some sets could get up to £650!).
Any idea on where would be best to stick it up for sale, or is it just an ebay job? My mate would be happy with anything I suppose, but I think he'd like £40 as a bare minimum (what he paid for it ten or so years ago).

It does have all four Daleks and all 6 UNIT troops, I just didn't photo them all.

I really don't know other than eBay, have a look at Harlequin items recently sold. £40 could be an achievable target but eBay is a gamble and your friend could feel sore if they sell for much less, I would like to be proven wrong though. The miniatures need to be paint stripped though not to devalue them.
