This my Nilla list of Marines but cant decide on termi chaplin or libby with SS:

Troop

3 tac squads melta and ML, w/ Rhino 630pts

Elites

Dreadnought 105pts

Assult Termi Squad with TH/SS 200pts

Termi Squad w/ Cyclone missle pod 230pts

Heavy Support

Vindicator w/siege shield 125pts



that leaves me about 210 pts for either an HQ or for me to drop some transports to allow more heavy support, or maybe throw in some scouts w/ sniper and camo cloaks?

Librarian. Assault termies don't really need the extra killing power that the chaps ability gives, but the librarian with nullzone is very effective, and the other power you chose can be very useful as well.

As for what to do with the rest of the points, land speeder is probably best.

Meh on the land speeders they die before i can usually kill a tank. (stupis scatter dice) Maybe drop shooty termi's and then another 200 opens up .so Termi libby with Gate of affinity Nullzone and an epistolary.
Which puts me at 1235 and now i got 275ish to use.

With that 275ish, maybe a land raider crusader?

i'm not big on LR right now maybe some more Heavy support? like a devy missled out? and a pred lased out?

Devastators aren't efficient, and full on lascannon preds aren't either.

How are you getting your termies into combat? Walking? That doesn't exactly get the job done. Deepstriking doesn't really work either, as people will just move away (and shoot them to death) and there is the risk of bad scatters.

I guess if you are taking termies for assault, you should probably just accept the fact that you need a LR (probably crusader or maybe redeemer) to deliver them. They won't really do anything otherwise.

If you are set against that option, i would drop all termies, and add some dakka preds and typhoon land speeders. As many as you can. Or more dreds.

Ok i concede LRR is worth it. Flamestorm marine killer.

As for your list ditch the Vindicator go dual Dreadnoughts but get rid of the multi melta and get las/mis or double autocannons

While I like sniper and riffleman dreds, the nilla MM dread is still a good midfield area denial unit. As nothing really wants to get within melta bonus or assault range of it.

How bout one of each?

Should take units in pairs for unit redundancy, mulitple threat and target saturation. Though the first and last meaning can be done in other ways.

Pairs it is then but i still need 15pts to do it. do i take away my melta's or drop LRR all together? And add 2 more squads of marines?

Ditch siege shields.
