So here is the start of what I hope to be a great kick start to me finishing a 4k point Warriors of Chaos army before the start of next year.

For now I will post these pictures of some of the units that make up my 1250pt army for a local paint and tournamant competition, first is my 18 block of warriors with shields (will be painted up tzeentch) and unit of Chaos Hounds. The main theme behind my army is to keep with the idea of a northern 'norse/raider/hunter' feel which is why I have shaved off the horns from all of my warriors and beefed up the fur cloaks on my command units (sign of status amongst the clan/tribe).

The current list is as follows;

Chaos Hero, Sword of Swift Slaying, Barded Steed, Enchanted Shield, Favour of the Gods,

Chaos Sorcerer, Level 2, Spell Familiar (Shadow Lore)

18 Warriors with Shields and Mark of Tzeentch, Standard Bearer
(Sorcerer starts off in this unit)

6 Chaos Hounds

5 Chaos Knights, Banner of Rage, Mark of Nurgle, Standard Bearer
(Hero rides with these guys)

4 Dragon Ogres, Extra Hand Weapon

I will follow up these posts with some army fluff a little later when I figure out how to tie this small force into my main horde.

Apologies for the long wait between posts but school and family have kept me busy. Still was able to get some paint to some of the figures though and finished the last of the conversions to my Hero.

Here are some very WIP pics of what I have painted and there will be more posted later in the week of my warriors and Dragon Ogres, my knights are taking a little longer than anticipated but should be up and running for the weekend.

Also, has anyone had any real success with using hounds as a screen for warriors or should they be used exclusively with calvary units like Knights and Horsemen? Thanks.
