I've been thinking about how Oblits work fluffwise and game wise, as welll as the obliterator appoc formation so I came up with this.

Obliterators are beings of flesh and metal, able to mould their bodies into any weapon they desire. What if two or more Obliterators decided to become one? lets find out.

Obliterator: "MUST.. OBLITERATE!"
Decimater: "*slaps obliterator* Yer doin it wrong! MUST... DECIMATE!"
Annihilator "*cockslaps both of them* ANNIHILATED BITCHES!"

Rule: Combine and DECIMATE/ANNIHILATE!
If an Obliterator squad numbers 2 or 3 they may combine into a Decimater for +25pts or Annihilator for +50pts respectively (you can't have 1 obliterator and a decimater, the entire squad must combine!)


Decimater: (Two obliterators)

Wargear:
The Decimater May choose between these 6 weapons:
TWO TL melta guns, TLflamer or TLplasmas guns OR ONE TLmulti-melta, TLPlasmacannon, or TL Lascannon.
The Decimater is also armed with the DecimationCannon
Two Power Fists (+1 attack in close combat)

Special rules:
Monstrous creature (one oblit was big enough!)
Slow and purposeful
Two's a couple (see below)
fearless

Two's A Couple:The Decimater may fire on two different targets with its weapons. (As a Monsterous creature, the Decimater may fire up to two of its available weapons) This ability allows the Decimater to SPLIT its shots as well (lets say hes using the DecimationCannon, he can choose how many shots are going to which unit). If the Decimater chooses to fire at two targets or split his fire; It must take a leadership test, if failed the Decimater's BS is reduced to 3 because the two minds within the monster are fighting for control. The firing continues as normal if the leadership is passed.

DecimationCannon: The Decimater's body is transformed into two massive guns capable of mass destruction, may choose to fire ONE of this weapons shots instead of using one of the above weapons in the shooting phase.

Scattered shot:
Range: 36''

The Annihilator is also armed with The AnnihilationCannon (see below)
THREE powerfists (this confers an extra attack in close combat, may re-roll to hit)

Triple linked: May re-roll to hit like a twinlinked, and re-roll to wound 4+
If shooting at a vehicle, add +d3 to the armor penetration roll

Special rules: Monstrous creature, Slow and purposeful, Three's a Crowd, fearless

Three's A Crowd: The Annihilator may fire up to three different targets! BUT is put under even more stress as a third mind is now fighting for control. The Annihilator must pass a leadership test for each additional target chosen. If any of the tests are failed, the Annihilator must fire its weapons at ONE of the targets. Also reduce the BS of the Annihilator by 1 for each failed leadership test (this means if you failed two tests, the Annihilator has the same BS as an ork! OUCH).

AnnihilationCannon: A larger and more fiercer version of the DecimationCannon, now has three barrels! May choose to fire This weapon instead of the weapons above

and I like the idea of having the Obliterators absorb each other.

Perhaps have a Master Obliterator be an upgrade and they must pass a Psychic test each time to combine.

Otherwise, it seems pretty cool.

Though the Burst option seems a little overpowered. Perhaps make the 2 Obliterator one a Heavy 1 large blast and the 3 Obliterator one a Heavy 2 large blast? 'Cause a Heavy 3 large blast template that is Str5 and ignores cover from a BS4 target is a little ridiculous. Just sayin'.

I've been wracking my brain over what to name them, all the cool names are already taken! help!

As for the weapons I was caught up in the double and triple action, Heres what I came up with

Dobliterator uses Twinlinked Multi-Melta.. Its super effective!

2x Eviscerator, Liquidator, Annihilator, Decimator, abrogator
3x Extripstor, Leveller, Extinguisher, Void (prolly with a suffix...like Lord or something...cause VOID CANNON just sounds so cool XD)
Like the thought of Oblits absorbing one another too, cause it makes sooo much sense, they're aggressive arrogant chaos space marines who meld flesh with steel, so of course they'd wanna suck each other up!

because when you get hit by that 3x custom cannons charged shot. your gonna get violated/annihilated

Now that we got some decent rules, and viable weaponry.

For the 2 and 3 formations on their burst shot 2d6 and / 3d6 respectively seem way to high that's an average of 7 / 10 shots per turn, the second with rending.

I think it would be more appropriate to be d6+2 / d6+4 remove the rending.

Or if your keeping the rending make the thing more than a 50 point upgrade.

Especially with all the other goodies your giving it like split fire and multiple nasty weapon choices.

Finally a critical review, so heres what I came up with.

Decimater;
Burst fire:

by the way. I do beleive the points are fine.

lets take the decimater. You have to pay for two obliterators (which each come with 6 powerful weapons, 2+ 5++ saves and FOUR wounds!TOTAL, and if you lose one you can still keep going.) BUT you pay another 25 points and you lose them. and gain a single large model that is slightly tougher but only has 3/4 the wounds, and now is much more dangerous to your opponent. Which means he will expend his forces trying to kill it.

so 175pts you get a single very powerful walking gun platform. Its slow as hell, resilient and can be killed still rather easily.

but then we have the annihilator... for a whopping 275pts (dayum!) your getting an increasingly more devastating model that is even tougher, and MUST be killed at all costs.

and the weapons... three oblits only cost 225, and i get three lascannons/multimelta/plascannon. while im paying 275 for a single tripple linked lascannon which only has a 50% better hit ratio then one anyway!. THATS why these guys are given the charged/scatter/burst firing

so they can still perform like 3 oblits would.


thats about it.

I think the annihilator should ignore cover BEFORE 48 in or w/e cause it towers over the battlefield, so if its right over you its not gonna matter much if ur behind a wall while if you go far enough thers a better chance you can get coverl

what would happen if the obliterator formation in apcoalypse reloaded merged together into one?

as for the obliterator formation fusing... this is what ive come up with..

If you have 9+ oblits in the formation they may fuse for 600pts (-50pts per extra oblit past 9 to a minimum of 300pts)

Special rules: Gargantuan creature, eternal warrior, fearless, Mind over matter

Mind over Matter:
The Armageddon is the perfect product of the obliterator virus, a living weapon with no equal. The perfect weapon that can shoot at whom ever it likes, with what ever it wants. If only the many minds that dwell within it could agree on something.
Roll a D6 every shooting phase, on a 1-2 the armageddon has become confused and unloads into the first target (two different weapons at one target, at BS 3).
On a 3-4 the armageddon may fire at two-three targets with up to two weapons (or one shot of "the end"), he may split fire among them (two lascannons on one, one on the other etc)
On a 5-6 The armageddon goes on a fire frenzy and may fire at up to two targets. with four weapons (or two different shots from "the end") .may split fire.

The end: One of the most powerful weapons known to the universe, it even competes with titan class weapons.

Range: Infinite
Strength: D
AP: 1
Type: Ordanance 3, 10'' blast , gets hot!, ignores cover up to 120''

Scattered shot:
Range: 120''
Strength: 8
AP: 2
Type: Appocolyptic barrage 2, ignores cover up to 60''

Burst fire:
Range: 120''
Strength: 6
AP: 3
Type: Heavy 3d6+12 ignore cover up to 60''

If its the end cannon then it should be str D. And it should cost much much more. And it should be classified as a gargantuan creature.
