So I've been playing awhile now and thought I'd post some thoughts on the game. My win/loss is posted below, it's pretty moderate for not playing Wolves or Angels, nor a cookie cutter eldar list.
I generally run 7 locks, 3 w/ spears, 3 with destructor, and Eldrad.
For heavies I dont spam Fire Prisms, I run 2 Wraithlords (Eml/SL and EML/BL) with dual flamers and a squad of Dark Reapers with Fast shot.
I do mechanize a little. I have a total of 4 wave serpents.. 1 for my council, 1 for my dragons, and 2 for my DA's.
I run a full blown DA unit w/ bladestorm, a 5 man DA unit, and a 5 man pathfinder squad for troops.
I tend to run 1 squad of FD's and 1 squad of Striking Scorpions for elites.
I've beaten Orks, Tau, Chaos, and Chaos Daemons. I've drawn against a lot of marines/colored marines, nids, and chaos. I've lost againt Eldar and Tau.
The point of this?
I have fun, do well, and play non Cookie cutter lists. Even against Top Tier lists I manage draws generally, and my losses come from my 1st game and my first tournament game.(Damn you 12 Eldar Warwalker list!) It's a good game and a fun hobby that be can enjoyed even without taking it too seriouslly and agonizing over what to do with your remaining 1 elite choice and 167 points in that upcoming Ard' Boyz. Once I stopped letting myself be disuaded by having "an inferior codex" and liking "non-competitive" lists, I've really learned to enjoy my eldar and game playing tons more than I did before.
I just need to play less D&D and more Warhammer imo.
