Now that my army is complete enough for travel, I have been looking at the options out there. All sites that I have seen are really big on Battlefoam. After looking it up, I see that it is pricy ($140 bucks for s bag and 2 foam trays for my SM). From experience, is Battlefoam worth it? Are their better options out there?

It's a nice piece of gear. I enjoy my 432 but at the same time my friend has a GW box and also a shoebox with foam to carry his minis in. I've also seen duffel bags filled with models in old vehicle boxes. It comes down to spending the money for any carry system (Battlefoam, GW, Sabol, etc.) or spending the time to make your own.

I personally would rather throw the extra money down on a premade bag/foam. I'd like to spend my time converting/painting my models than spend it making a bag and foam trays. Then re-fixing it when I mess it up Right now I don't have the extra cash so most of my unpainted minis get carried around in ziplock baggies until I can get them foam trays.

I have the 1520 by battle foam. It's just fine for Apoc games. Or, I can just use one half for 1500 point games just fine.

It protects my stuff better than the GW army cases (which I now use for my Reaper minis for D&D). Just my opinion. If I could make one cheaper, I would. But I would rather spend my time converting/modeling/painting.

My 2 cents.

I got a gw carry case free from an ex templar, and gosh I love it! If i had to buy it id be a bit sad but its just great for my guardsmen, and although theres no proper way to transport half a fething tank column and 9 heavy weapons teams, transporting 40 guardsmen in the carry case is a breeze, and it really looked impressive when you open up that carry case to reveal rows of disciplined guardsmen.

Definately worth looking one ebay for one

Oddly enough, my Citadel Figures Box arrived this morning. It is perfect for small armies of 1500- 3000 points, depending on the number of vehicles. Probably the best army would be an infantry heavy one, so probably 'nids, but Rhino's and Land Raiders fit nicely, although I have mine in a shoebox

Totally worth the price, also piece of mind knowing that your mini's are very secure. I have the 720 and may need to buy a second one!
