Would you re-roll this gift that gives you a +1 to your armor save if you already have a 1+ armor save from regular armor benefits. Just like you would reroll Fear if you already caused Fear.

Seems like this would crop up a lot so any opinions or guidance? Thanks

GW have made a good point of not saying anything about it so by RAW i'm afraid such rolls are wasted as you already have as good a save as you can get, i would let my opponent to re-roll them tho cuz it seems RAI but i wont let him re-roll a re-roll

I thought you could get higher than 1+ even though it resolved to 1+. The point being that if something was armor piercing or higher strength it would retain a lower modified roll.


But maybe I'm just smoking crack again.

That was 7th - in 8th your save can never, at any point, be better than a 1+.

you can not re-roll this result.

per the BRBFAQ, your save can be 0+ but when taking the test you calculate from 1+. so receiving this result is valid and not re-rollable.

you could get hit by lore of metal for -1 save and you would still have a 1+ instead of a 2+

It's not wasted since you could at some point during the game lose a piece of armor and having this would go to great lengths to keep your armor save.

Yeah the ONLY ones that give you the chance to re-roll are fear and terror, if you already cause terror.

I always get annoyed because Sigvald likes to get +1 LD [he's already 10] and occasionally rolls Stupidity [which he already has] but no consolation is given for those two when you are already maxed out.

On an anecdotal note, my trolls always roll +1 AS. It's so damn annoying getting a mostly useless 6+ armor save. Disheartening too. "Ok here's my armor saves" *all 4's and 5's* "damn, ok now regeneration" *1-3 only*
