I'm going to be involved in a Planet Strike game next month and am woundering what Nid weapons could be used for the bastion's Heavy boltes & Lascannons or for the quad guns, Impenetrable Fortress or all those other defensive goodies that can be used in Planet Strike.
Also, what Toughness would be best for these wounderful gooy Giegeresque Hive Bastions I have in mind.

Tyranids really never defend anything. They conquer a planet strip it of call Bio-mass and move on leaving a empty ball of dirt.

But what if they had to.
Their Bioships crippled or dead, but thier Norn Queens still hail and whole.
Now after centuries, new hive ships are being spawned, but the Norn Queens can no longer leave the planet that has so long sustained them.
All must protect, All must survive, and from this Planet, a Tyranid now itself in all but name, a new generation of Tyranid shall spread across the galaxy like a cancer.
This is the future...THIS...IS...HIVEWORLD!!

Tyranid weapons are all assault for a reason, in a situation like that the bastions would be like huge tervigons that spawn hundreds of units or thousands of spore mines, all while advancing on anything that breaches the atmosphere.

Think white blood cells attacking bacteria in your body.

Well if you need ranged attacks look at the Bio-electric attacks on the Trygon Prime, or the rupture cannons on the Tyranofex

Sorry, but thats nonsense. As soon as they conquer something they defend it until they stripped it clear of Bio-Mass. A Planetstrike on a just captured planet, in which the tyranids breed bastions because of heavy counter attacks is perfectly logic.

On a side note: They also defend their ,,home" - the Hive Fleet.

Bio-Electric Pulse and Containment Spines could work nicely...Fleshborer Hives...Acid Spray...Ripper Tentacles...Limited Sentience...Oh My!

Well, when you put it that way....

Spore Mine Launchers, as suggested by 'eadbreaka, would be very interesting.
Ripper Tentacles would work.
And my idea would be a Venom/Rupture on top.

Oh, but if you want to make your own rules, maybe for x number of points, you could choose a unit that can be spawned from it.

I got the idea any base that is left is turnded in to some form of hive .

The biggest indicator someone is a loser is them complaining about 3d printers or piracy.

INFESTED bastion, 'nuff said.

I'll most likely have some but that's just too simplistic off an option for what I was thinking.

Tyranid broodhives similar to Imperial armour 4 TAP would look quite cool. Also, maybe go maybe for a look like there's a spore chimney/spire growing out of a bastion, and there's a spore cloud around the bastion itself.

Tyranid weapon is largely symbotic, so work with that sort of idea I guess.
