So, for the last month or so I have been working on getting Firestorm Armada rolling at my local store. So far, things have been going well; several people have already bought books and starter fleets, with others expressing interest. I thought it might be fun to share stories of getting a new game into regular play, as well as failed attempts to do so. Sharing these experiences would also be a good way to improve our next attempts!

In this case, what really got things kicked off was a demo day run by the store owner. He turned the gaming space over to a series of demo games, and I was able to get space enough to run FSA. Couple with the fact that the owner tried to stock each product being demoed, this created a lot of good buzz. Since then, I've been running demo games between two interested players, with me as the ref/teacher. So far, we've been using all of my models, since I have two starter fleets painted and ready to go. It also helps that space games are rarely played at this particluar store, so this one gets a lot of attention!
