Subject: Theory And Practice Of Ork Fast Attack?

I am planning a 1000 point Ork army themed on Feral Orks, and I am stuck on which direction to go with my Fast Attack. I am already taking a unit of Warbikes (Boarboyz with Big Gunz!) and a unit of War Buggies (Boar Chariots with rockets or missiles pods or whatever.) The rest of the army is on foot, and loaded for assault. The plan is for the bikers to provide covering fire and the buggies the antitank support.
So my question is, is it better to take a second mob of Bikers for fire support, or a second mob of buggies for antitank work?
I appreciate any and all feedback

Here's what I've seen work well for Orks.
Warbikers may have better toughness and a cover save, but they are only as good in assault as regular boys. You can ambush small squads with them but you'll have to be careful.
War Buggies make great screening units for your vehicles. A BS2 Rokkit is going to be very unreliable killing, well, anything. However, they can provide cover saves for other units and draw enemy fire.
Now, instead, if you would take a look at Deffkoptas (Orks with Gliders or large animals?) They can take a Rokkit and A Buzzsaw, Scout Move 24" first turn, Move 12", Shoot the Rokkit, and Assault with 3 Strength 7 attacks against vehicle rear armor. Not bad, amiright?

I haven't found good flying critters to be my deffkoptas lol!
Mostly I was thinking of usng the bikes in a shooting role, and not using them in an assault role. Do they fail at this?
And about the buggies, I thought the twinlinking on the rokkits would offset the BS:2. At least that's what I was hoping.

Have you thought of buying some Tyranid Gargoyles, and model the orks to "ride" them?

Heh. Or a Flying Warrior with wires going into it's brain or summat. I saw a neat conversion of a Carnifex with an Ork riding in its skull once.
But, on topic. You say you wanna use warbikers in a shooting role? I don't have the book on me but run the math on how many shots you get and will actually hit with at Ork Ballistic Skill. At most, oh, 1 or 2 kills against MEQ? (Crazy wild guess.)
Nah. Your standard Boy squad is INFINITELY better at shooting and assaulting than Warbikers.
Now, with that said, Nob Bikers with a Painboy and Cybork are one of the deadliest units in the game. Play the bikers as that instead, and (not only will they be troops with a warboss) but sending them ranging out in front of your army with several squadrons of warbuggies will prevent your opponent from shooting the Green Tide racing towards them, unhindered.

In 1000 point games I tend to shy away from Fast Attack unless its a Deff Kopta or two; The fast attack choices just aren't strong enough besides Koptas in my opinion. However, in my 2K I run a 4 Warbiker screen for the rest of my army... some reason everyone likes to shoot them instead of my Battlewagons which I'm okay with.

If you're not afraid of a little scratchbuilding, you could make some kind of mini-dirigible as your Feral Deffkoptas. Just put a big patched-up balloon on top and an armored basket underneath with a propeller in the back. Could look very cute in a steampunk way.

I have to disagree with you on this point.
The rokkits are twin-linked, which increases the chances of hitting from ~33% to ~55%, giving a total chance of 9.27% per rokkit to destroy an AV 11 target. A marine with a krak missile on the same target only has a 11.14% of destroying the AV 11 vehicle.
This is very important for orks, as once the targets are out of their candy-coated shell (Rhinos, Razorbacks, Chimeras, Truuks, etc) then the boys can assault the unit inside and not just the vehicle. This allows the boys to get furious charge, and an extra attack with their power klaw on the unit and not just vehicle.
On a side note, the only real reliable killing of vehicles are close range melta guns, which come in at a ~31.64% of destroying AV 11, which are not available to Orks.
Do some math hammering yourself

The most reliable Ork AT is either in Lootas or Deffrollas. The problem with Deffrollas is it involves driving them in range of the enemy's most reliable AT.
With some exceptions (Speeders/Dreadnoughts), most Meltaguns are borne by infantry. These guys normally like to fire from the comfort of a vehicle, a Rhino being able to serve as a multimelta bunker of annoyance. Even if you don't destroy such a vehicle with Rokkits, shaking it lets you more safely bring your Battlewagons to bear when it's time to do the Deffrollan.
So Buggies and Koptas get Rokkits. Which one do you take? It's a matter of if you want Scouts (and/or Buzzsaws, because those are an annoying opening move), or if you want vehicles (which while fragile, cannot be tank-shocked out of the way). Bikes...are generally *best* as Troops anyway...

So, load my Warboss and Nobz on bikes, and flank them with a couple units of buggies? My Ork-playing buddy just told me has some Cyboar heads he would lik to contribute to this project, so I think we have a winning combination!
Now, about the Tyranid Warrior Deffkopta... Do the wings come in the box or are they a horribly expensive add-on? I've looked at some pictures, and think with a different head the idea may work. The Gargoyles are a bit too small, I think. But they would be cheaper!
I thank you all for your input so far!
