Bounding Black Templar Assault Marine

I'm new to fantasy and I'm starting skaven, and the rules for warpstone weapons are confusing me somewhat. They are simply classed as having 'magical' attacks, and whilst other magical items have specific rules and effects, such as +1 S or A, the warpstone weapons magical abilities are not described, and i can't find any rules in the WHFB rulebook that covers weapon simply listed as 'magical'. So dakka, could you lend us a hand?

Magical attacks are mostly usefull for the fact they can damage etheral enemies.

Also, some things might have ward saves vs non-magical attacks. It's just a different category of weapons, like flaming.

IIRC Magical attacks ignore ward saves.

also the etherial bit is reason enough to take them.

Magic attacks DO NOT ignore ward saves.

It ignores what is commonly called "daemonic ward saves", i.e. Wood Elf forest spirits and the 6th ed Hordes of Chaos daemons.

it does NOT ignore ward saves in general.
