Hello and welcome to my first tutorial for 40k (and actually my first post here XD)
I had the idea to make the base for my HWT a little different depending on the Weapons.

No further talk lets get started.
The Materials:
Base 60mm
Sealing wire 12cm
Copper cable isolated
Toothpicks
Sproo from base and HWT
bristles from a Street Broom
Bird sand
Wood glue
Universal glue / Superglue
Plastic glue
Wood Stain
Grass green wash

The Tools:
Some simple brush (The cheap brushes are good enough)
Mini drill
Cable cutter
Long Nose pliers
Small and big cutter knife
Angled tweezer
Files
Hardwood for cutting
Safety glasses (USE THEM !)

Cut 2 toothpick in 12 to 13mm piece.
Keep the endpoints we need them also.

NOTE:
Cut from 3 or 4 side.
Be careful the little piece will fly around!
Please use safety glasses!

Drill 6 regular parts ~2 to 4mm from top with a 1,2mm drill true.

Paint all (the endings also) with wood stain and let them dry nicely.
I like wood stain the most because it keep the natural look from the wood
You can use of course other paint.

Bend the sealing wire like this.

Put 5 regular parts on the wire.
Depending on your drill you may have to turn them on the wire.
Turn the endings of the wire 2 – 3mm around the “pole”.

Glue them on the base with universal glue or super glue.
NOTE:
Do not glue all pole straight on the base.
Give them some different angle.
This looks more like hammered in the ground in a hurry.

Then you can start to cover the base with wood glue.

And give the base a nice bath in bird sand.

Already 5 minutes later you can turn the base around.
Hit the base from the backside gently with a tweezer or something similar
to get rid of the sand that is still loose.

The base should look something like this.

NOTE:
Give the wood glue time to dry now.
The next day you can use a brush to remove the rest of loose sand.

With some sprue and some bristles from a Street Broom
you can make some nice hammer.

I did glue a cotton string around the handle so the hammer does look nicer
I still need to paint the hammer and the heavy weapons team,
but I think you already get the picture

I hope you did like my first tutorial so far.
It would be nice if you build a base like this to see a photo.
Anny question and feedback are welcome.

With best regards
Wi-Ta

Nice and simple and can easily be expanded by adding more holes and wire. It's a much more cleaner, fence like barbed wire. I might use this in the future to top bunkers or to add to razor wire (you know, how you see the barbed wire in the middle of the razor wire)

That is a truly great little trick there, really simple but when done well it looks very effective.

No trees were hurt in the making of this sig, however many electrons were disturbed.

Not the most "pointy" barbed wire, but a great fence making tutorial!

Awesome tutorial and awesome idea for putting it on the top of a bunker or other building!

Check out my Project (B)log! I would love any suggestion or comments you may have.

Nice work, I like how you added the tools to the bases. In the final look I kinda think there should have been more rocks and stuff on it. War isn't faught on a golf course or anything. Nothing against your idea, just like to see contracts and texture.

The Wire for my Daemon Princess was made from Eithernet cord. I stripped it, cut off about 2 feet, bent it in half around a sacure medal rod, like a bed post or oven handle, put both ends in a drill and spone them slowly. Once it looked right I did it again, 4 times.

With the left over 4 wires of two feet (RJ45 has 8 twisted pair), I made barbs on the wire by crossing over the spone wire with the strate wire every centameter or so (Just like real bars). Then once finished I tighted and glued each barb, cut off the excess loops for each barb, cut off the unspon end of the wire, and spone the barb wire into spools around a pencil.
