Are IG veteran squads able to take more than one heavy weapons team? It doesnt seem to specify in the codex

I don't think they can, because the Codex says "Two Guardsmen can be replaced by a heavy weapons team", unlike Shotguns where it's "All Guardsmen can" or special weapons, where it's "Up to three Guardsmen".

Now if it said "any 2" it would be a different story. sadly, theres no way to get 3x bs 4 HWs

It says Two Guardsmen.
If you take 2 HWT, you have used 4 Guardsmen, which is not allowed.

Actually you can have 2 Heavy Weapons in a vet squad(still only 1 team though): Gunnery Sgt Harker, and a HWT.
