Subject: Cavalry base size and corner charging

Chaos warrior bases are 25mm wide.
Cavalry bases (which are often quoted as being 25mm wide) are actually 23mm wide.
Here are the questions?
Is there *currently* any *official* listing of base sizes??
If not, what basis in the rules would allow us to "pretend" that cavalry bases are actually fully 25mm across?
Argument for : a base conversion chart has previously defined base sizes which put it at 25mm
Argument against : That was last edition, and those rules are no longer available and no longer current. The current ruling is "use the base it came with", not pretend that it's bigger or smaller.
Next, if I have a 6-wide 25mm frontage, which is in base-to-base with another 6 wide 25mm frontage, can either unit be charged in the arc in which they are in contact.
Argument for : units in corner to corner are allowed to fight and thus are considered in Base to base.
Argument against : 150mm wide is covered 150mm, how much is left? 0mm. There is no more facing left to charge.

Yes, you can fight corner to corner and therefore charge a corner.

Thanks for sharing your opinion, care to back that up with a rule somewhere? Can you refute the "there is no front left to charge".

Nos is right here. I'm sure you agree models can fight corner to corner. The charge requirement is to make contact, not to have "x" frontage available. Since contact is permitted corner to corner, that is a legal charge. Making such a charge may be tricky/difficult- as you'll need to be in that charged arc, and able to hit that corner using only a single wheel of up to 90 degrees.

I suspect under most circumstances you'd be better off charging the flank rather than the corner, or charging the unit warding the flank.
Waitaminute... isn't there a rule that friendly units cannot be closer than 1" at all times?

That rule is ignored while charging. And you can't "decide" to charge the flank - your positioning will determine if its a flank charge or frontal charge.
