If you used regular super glue I find that soaking the model in greenstuff or purple power tends to make most of the glue joints come loose. Just found this to happen alot when stripping models.

If you used superglue, try putting it into a plastic ziploc bag in the freezer overnight.
**Freezing weakens the superglue bonds even further (superglue bonds are strong in only certain directions. Rotational/torsional stresses are the weak point.)**

You should then be able to - with a small amount of force - break the bonds and remove them.

Of course, if the entire model was superglued, then you risk your entire model falling apart if you use too much force.

Still, sometimes sacrifices have to be made.

also, there are some chemical solvents which eat superglue, but not polystyrene plastic, like Isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) and Acetone (finger nail polish remover).

Do a test with them first, just to make sure, but either of these chemicals should weaken the glue once you apply some to the afflicted area with a Q-tip

uh.... I am pretty sure you should NOT use acetone on your plastic model. This is the reason people say to be careful with nail polish remover for stripping paint. Acetone will turn your plastic predator into a pile of rubbery feth resembling silly putty. Spot-application might work, but that would be hairy buisiness, as more than 2-3 seconds of contact causes damage to plastic.

The only way I know how to debond plastic glue bonds is to reaply the plastic glue to the location and then devide the parts with a knife.

i simply applied pressure to some leman russ sponsons and they popped right off with no damage to the model or the sponsons.

Acetone WILL dissolve styrene.

It also debonds superglue.

There is no chemical way to separate a plastic glue bond.

Use a knife or saw and go carefully for that one.
