Subject: trouble with the green tide

Hey guys, I wanted to ask a few questions about facing some orks with my csm. We play according to how many models he has (cause he's relatively new) so the armies are both about 755 points. Only problem is I have a HARD time beating him. We kinda play on small tables as well, so that's to his advantage. But anyway, here are the lists:
Orks
Warboss w/ pk + tl shoota + cybork + eavy - 100
6x nobz w/ 2x pk + 3x big choppa + cybork + eavy + banner + painboy + orderly + trukk w/ red paint + ram - 350
20x shoota boyz + 2 big shoota + nob - 140
Battlewagon w/ kannon + 3x big shoota + grot riggers+ ram - 125
Kills kan w/ grotzooka - 10
CSM
Daemon prince w/ mok - 110
7x berzerkers w/ champ + pf + rhino - 222
5x CSM w/ flamer - 80
Dreadnaught w/ melta - 100
Obliterator - 75
Vindicator w/ dp + havoc - 160
Pretty much if I assault forward I get hacked to pieces and if I hang back I eventually get overrun anyway. The nob squad is almost impossible to destroy for me. Suggestions?

Drop the dread. bad point sink as he really doesnt contribute much. you need some stuff to deal with the 20 bodies. buffing up the bezerkers would be good. havocs with heavy bolters/autocannons/missile launchers can make mincemeat out of them (and the wagon if they see the side) maybe adding in a defiler for battlecannon.

First off, you need more bodies in your army, max out the berzerker squad so they still fit in the rhino, 5 more CSM so you can get a second special weapon, maybe a second obliterator too.
Your first priority should be to pop the Nob trukk, if that thing reaches you, you're as good as done. I would gather my forces around the vindicator and just blast away as much as possible, while moving my dreadnought forward and try to either destroy the Nob trukk with the melta or assult the shoota squad (no PK on the Nob = dreadnought win). The vindicator should beable to destroy a bunch of orks before they reach you, and ones they're close enough, the DP and zerkers should beable to take care of the rest (assuming you get to assult first).
Anyway, fill out your squads, that's nr.1. Also:
Daemon Prince w/ MoK - 120

mos + lash or mon with warptime please
7x berzerkers w/ champ + pf + rhino - 222
make the squad 10 give the rhino a combi melta
5x CSM w/ flamer - 80
5 more marines here please another flamer and a rhino
Dreadnaught w/ melta - 100
get rid of this and do the above
Obliterator - 75 get another one
Vindicator w/ dp + havoc - 160
either get anothe rone or drop it for 7 plaguemarines with 2 plasmaguns or 2 more oblits

i guess i forgot to mention that the boyz are inside the wagon shooting out of it. i made this alternative list as well, what'd you think?
1x Sorcerer w/ MoS + LoS + Steed - 155
6x Noise Marines w/ 5x Sonic Blasters - 145
6x Noise Marines w/ 5x Sonic Blasters - 145
2x Vindicators w/ DP - 310
I'll have the sorcerer lash the nob squad after the trukk has been destroyed and mop up everything else with the vindicators. The marines stay near the vindicators for support, and since they outrange the 18" shootas in the battlewagon they won't get picked off like my berzerkers did. Does that sound like a legitimate strategy? And btw, the sorcerer has a steed because I converted a fantasy cavalry model into a "headless horseman" sorcerer, and I really want to use it

you could get a winged deamon prince and assault the bw. when you pop it and the boyz hop out hit them with your bezerkers.
just a thought I do not play chaos but I do play orks and it seems to me that this tactic might work (from the other side of things of course).
