I just had a simple idea that might make things just a wee bit better for us DakkaDakkites. How about a way to organize "My Subscribed Threads"?

I've got tons of threads I subscribed to, but they are all lumped together so it takes a bit to scroll through them all to find one again. Perhaps a way to organize them by category would be simplest to program into the site, for example:

Like when you open up your e-mails, you can click on the "date" category and it lists all your e-mails by date. Or you can click on "from" and it lists the e-mails by who they are from. For use on Dakka Dakka click "Forum Name" or "Last Post" and then it should be easier to scroll through them all until you find the one you wanted to look at because it had that awesome conversion idea.

Might be a bit of an HTML coding challenge, and I know you Dakka Programmers are working hard enough already to keep this site as awesome as it it. So I just thought I would toss that idea out there, and see if any one else would like to see this sort of thing, or if any one else who is an HTML wizard might be willing to help write the code if you let them help share the burden.

Also if there was an easier way of decluttering the Subscriptions, like a checkbox system and a delete button, rather than having to continually scroll down.

How about a way to make some of the threads we subscribe too "sticky" so they always stick to the top of the first page like the admin articles on top of all the forums. Maybe you might want to put a cap on the threads we can make sticky, 5-10 or so, otherwise it might get out of hand.

Too much overhead for the server, that one will not happen.

I see what you mean though. The system would have to keep track of everyone's sticky threads, and if every one has 5-10 each, waaaayyyy too much to keep track of and waaayyy too much space needed to keep those tracking files. All that on top of the subscribed threads themselves taking up space and being tracked. Where as my original idea of an organization method that merely rearranges the data already being stored by category is less strain on system resources.
