The Restaurant at the end of the Warp

This is to log the progress of my first Scratch built miniature, my first miniature commission and my first Primarch. Please be kind, this is my first work on this scale. It is 45mm from foot to head.

The figure is based on the new SM armor MK3 from the Forgeworld Site. Which the client suggested as pleasing reference.

*edit1* The figure is a commission for a chapter called "Night Serpents" It doesn't fit in with official Fluff I think (My WH40k knowledge is woeful). Perhaps It is an "unknown Primarch"? The Head will be enclosed an with "FW MK 3 style" Helmet.

I need to do a lot of cleaning up of rough areas, fortunately a friend of mine owns his own Architectural model building company. He uses a type of super-fine Tamiya filler for tiny gaps and texture issues. I also plan on using his airbrush to give it a nice even base coat of proper primer. For now I am reading up on the excellent sculpting guides on the following sites which are of immense value to aspirant modelers.

I hope to become proficient in the use of greenstuff and its alternatives thanks to help from these friendly pros.

I wanted to move away from pointless wings and opted for large boosters with directional plates that hint at wings. There are hinges to pull the jets up and down and pivots to move them from side to side. The plates focus and widen thrust and also direct it.

Very impressive. The shoulder pads seem a bit wide though. You did a good job of abstracting wings with your boosters.

Is the primach meant to be either Ferrus or Perturabo? They're the two I see most likely to use a jump pack like that. Or is it meant to be one of the missing primach? I just can't see them in Imperial armour should that be the case.

Which does nothing to limit the coolness of the model, it's just the fluff nutter in me getting curious.

it's gotta be either the night haunter or Corax as they are the only two to use jump packs
