I was playing around in the ol' Space Marine Painter and am thinking about starting something new. Painting blood angels for the last 7 months straight has taken a toll on me. So I wanted to go for something that no one is doing right now, or that is a little uncommon. I like the Salamanders, but they seem to be trending towards popularity. I was also looking at the Soul Drinkers, I am intrigued by the purple and gold armor, looks great. Then I started messing around and came up with this color scheme. I dont see blue/green color schemes....well ever. How does it look?

I think if you blended the colors in the middle it would look cool.

Makes me feel queasy just looking at it. Might look better on the models with highlights and shades but it don't look nice the way it it. The colours are too similar IMO too. If it were a bolder colour difference it might work.

The colors are going to blue into one really, really badly. Personally, I hate the half and half schemes, but if you're going to do it, you really need to have something in the middle to separate the two. Also, why are the shoulder and kneepads black on one half, but not on the other?

Try using more..i dunno...richer colors. With those colors your army would look like Easter eggs with boltguns.

Those colors are really just going to blend together. Halved and quartered schemes look good because of their contrast - blue and white, red and yellow, and so on. I'd swap one of those colors out for a white or orange, or just go solid with one color.

Agreed!

That Green with White would work well, though white is a challenge to paint...

I dont really like the turquoise thing on its own, but Ive always wanted to do a light coloured scheme with those colours, except one kind of highlighting the other for a sort of old oceanic feel.

It reminds me of a fruit roll up...but I agree with the others, it would look better with much bolder colors that contrast. I would choose one or the other and do the other color as black.

I agree with richer colors... maybe if they are darker, and blended, it will look better.
It's probably one of those things where you just need to paint a dude to find out how it looks in person!

Hmm..it's ok, but space marine colours are traditonally meant to be heraldic...a base rule of heraldry is not to use similar colours supporting each other (i.e not to use two metallics like gold and silver as a base colour for example)

Kill them. For the Emperor knows those who are his.

Ok, so the consensus is 'no go.' Understood.

I was going to blend the colors in the middle, so rather than a sharp defined line seperating the colors, I wanted to have them changing from one to the next. I was actually wanting the end result to have that glowing feel that many people paint their eldar models like. Unfortunately the web painter doesnt have the options or cannot capture the full effect of my idea, but maybe it is a bad color scheme. I was simply interested in experimenting with analogous colors i guess rather than complimentary or contrasting. I always see the same 2 colors paired together ( Red/Yellow, Black/Red, White/Blue, White/green) and was looking to do something different is all.
