Just wondering I have had some problems with metal GW models before. Whats the best way to keep them from chipping? Also what would be the best primer to use on them besides GW's overpriced primer?

Pat that askala, O-H-I hate this stupid state

I personally use a matte spray brand called Plaid Patricia Nimocks and it comes in a blue black white label sold at Wal Mart in the craft aisle. It is a matte acrylic spray that doesnt make your models glossy looking. Others have suggested using testors dull-cote. I have never used it because i have always used the product i mentioned first and had no problems with it. Just spray it like a primer only spray it a little closer.
For primer i use Quick Color sold at Home Depot. Just be sure to pay attention to the cap and get the flat not glossy cap. It is only 97cents a can and is comprable to GWs overpriced primer.

Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, its just a freight train coming your way!

i use testors flat and haven't had any problems. i'd say honestly the best way is to use PROPER foam to carry your minis. Don't use a tacklebox or carry them in a shoe box with toilet paper padding or anything of the sort.

Behind the guy that says he's behind you.

Always carry them in a padded box, GW offers a few carry cases that you can buy. but if you don't have the money than you can pick up some foam from you local hardware store.

With the foam all you need is a carry box / possibly a tackle box.
1.Cut out a base Layer into the shape of the tackle box's insides.
2.Repeat above but this time cut out small squares (or big for tanks) and place it on top of the base layer
3.Repeat step 1 & 2 until the box has been filled in the order of- Non-cut, Cut, Non-cut, cut, etc to the top.
4.Then place one more top layer to stop the top models from jumping around.

and your done.

Also matte sprays are great but on bright models such as yellow and white the colors can some times look off color after you have sprayed them. So do some research before you buy them because alot of the cheap brands cause this problem.
