I have been looking for a Hobby shop to call my home.
Anyone know any that are in the San Diego/North County area?
I am willing to travle up to L.A. for weekend battles.

Game Empire seems pretty cool, I haven't been yet but the guys on their forums are pretty nice.
Worth a look.

I have heard of Pair-a-Dice but I have never been out there. As far as I know, there is Rogue's Inn in Oceanside. But they really dont have much wargaming going down.

Game Empire is pretty good. I head down there for regular tournaments when I can. And the local crowd is cool. Try there if you in that area.

Game Empire is a nice place.
Pair-a-Dice can be cool, it depends on if the marines that frequent the store are on deployment or not. If they are not on deployment, go play there. If you are left with the standard nerds, games can get soul crushingly unpleasant.

LOL, well seeing how Im in the Marine Corps I should make some quick friends(enemies). I will def check this place out when I get my army built. So far, I have the basic IG list but I need to get together the money to build, paint, and the time to play.

Im guessing they are boring and take a game far too seriously. People like that are no fun to play ANYTHING with.

No way, I played at Game Empire its not all that big but you can get a good game. There are a few nut cases but ignore them, they are harmless. Only true nerds in there are the regulars that just hang out and rag on newbies, happens at every store.

I live down in Imperial Beach and I'm always looking for a game. Don't really dig the big store, I'm more looking for a regular group of people who'd want to play on the weekends or whatever. I can host games, but I don't have a great board or anything.

I think the more critical comments were aimed at Pair-a-Dice Games, not Game Empire.
Game Empire is, as you say, awesome.

I play at Game Empire with my buddy on weekends, the crowd is cool there. We got a lot of help when we jumped back into the game after not playing since high school. If you see Blood Angels facing Nurgle there, its probably us.
