Tournament Information

tournament circuit with Games Workshop. Winners
will prequalify for an invitation to the Games
Workshop Invitational Grand Tournament to be held
in Las Vegas the summer of 2011!

There are 3 Grand Tournaments to choose from.
1) Warhammer 40,000 - 1,750 points
2) Warhammer Fantasy Battles - 2,000 points

(When you pay for your registration, you will be
asked to choose which tournament you are going to
play in.)

Tournament Schedule

Each tournament begins with check in on Saturday
morning, with three rounds on Saturday, and two
rounds on Sunday. Award ceremony is about an
hour following the completion of the final round on
Sunday.

Hotel Registration

The event is scheduled to be held at the
Washington County Fairgrounds in Hillsboro,
Oregon, just west of Portland. We have arranged for
a special convention rate with a local Marriott hotel.

We have negotiated a $79 per night convention rate
for the dates of our event. Please mention the
convention name to get this rate!

The housing block is at the Marriott Towne Place
Suites in Hillsboro, Oregon. We will have a link here
in a few days.


Additional Information
Everyone who purchases a pass to the ConQuest
GT Oregon Insurrection, also gains free admission
to ConQuest OREGON, a general gaming
convention, occurring at the same site on the same
weekend.

Is the TO of this event Gabriel Vega? I ask because it's on the same website that the Las Vegas and Los Angeles Conquest GT's were and there are still some people who haven't recieved their refunds from those events when the event was cancelled or changed at the last minute.

Hello. The overall Conquest organizer is Gabriel Vega. I am running the Warhammer/40k GT. I would suggest anyone who has an issue getting in touch with him use the email listed on the site. I can't speak for these issues, but I can pass them on.

I'd heartily recommend passing them on. He no longer responds to the email address. Also I'd be doubly careful as it seems he didn't pay his last head judge from the Los Angeles tournament. Just a heads up.

Gabriel Vega took my and Blackmoor's money for the LA conquest.

When he changed the venue at the last minute, shortened it to one day and changed the venue, we asked for a refund.

He told us he would refund it and then never did.

8 weeks later he doesn't return emails or answer calls.

I filed a complaint with PayPal and he hasn't answered their phone calls either.

I called GW, and they said they have NOTHING to do with him and will never work with him again and that he is NOT giving away golden tickets.

He also canceled the Vegas conquest at the last minute, stiffing attendees out of a large amount of money in airfare and hotels.

The guys is not to be trusted and is incredibly unethical.

I GIVE MY STRONGEST RECOMMENDATION AGAINST ATTENDING THIS EVENT.

I'm going to have to chime in with Reecius on this one. I also heartily endorse not attending any events run by Gabriel Vega.

If that is the case then GW needs to state this. Frankly until then you are just stating heresay. You could just as easily be mistaken and they won't be giving gold tickets for the next circuit.

GWs website lists these tournaments as granting tickets and I think GW would be as bad as Mondo if they chose not to honor their commitment to grant the winners golden tickets. Otherwise which Conquest gold tickets are valid? The ones you guys have in your hands?

That said, I went to one of the only somewhat suscessful Conquest GTs (the seattle one) and I would also recommend not attending. Mondo is taking advantage of the GT situation in a number of markets, as well as the work and funds of volunteers for his own gain. If Doc Dragon or sgtzimm were to run an event seperate from Avalon/Mondo, then I would consider attending. Till then, not a chance.

Hopefully GW will grant gold tickets to TSHFT, since that appears to be the only tournament in the seattle area that is ran for and by gamers who love the game and the community.

Asugradinwa said that GW is honoring the golden tickets from the event he just attended. I don't expect GW to tell people to shove off. I think they've just been distracted with games day lately and haven't had the time to work on this but I suspect it will change soon. But we'll see.

I am simply restating what I was told by a GW customer service rep. I can't exactly force GW to put that up in bold on the front page of their web page.

I have no idea what will occur with the gentlemen who won at the LA conquest. I hope they get their tickets, otherwise that would be a shame.

That being said, I will not attended another Conquest event until the players have been refunded the money owed to them.

That is good news, would have been pissed if you had not gotten the ticket you deserved.

Gold ticket or no, I still wouldn't give this guy any more of my money, period. Even if he does refund those owed and pays Doc. I'd rather support quality TOs and events with genuine interests in the community.

FYI, refunds through PayPal are instant, none of this 6 weeks baloney.

I will confirm that Mondo's tournaments are off the circuit for this year, and undoubtably the next one. (My info is a bit fuzzy because the discussion took place at the Wharf Rat on the Friday night before Games Day, and some brain cells are still missing.)

If GW has said that they will still provide tickets to the tournaments, then they will, they won't hurt the players. But I am under the strong impression from GW that they are not providing him any other support as they are other tournaments that are part of the circuit.

I would highly recommend paying by paypal, to give yourself an easy way to get a refund, if you have any doubts about the organization running things.
