Where can I find a large amount of grassy material to cover an entire table ? I'm making a table and can't seem to find enough to make an entire table . There has to be bigger quantities than those small containers on gw.

Any suggestions?

If you want 'loose' static grass, you can get large bags of it from model railroad suppliers. 100g bags instead of the miniscule GW quantities.

For a table though, I'd use the grass mat sheeting. Comes in sheets from around A4 up to 'poster' size and possibly up to 8'x4'. Also available in hobby stores catering to model railway.

This is the same stuff as the old GW 'battlemat' - a roll of paper backed static grass meant to be permanently glued down to a surface.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Given the tendancies of flocking to rub off when touched a lot, I would imagine a whole table covered in flocking would soon develop lots of bald spots.

I would either use a felt tablecloth in an appropriate color (for the easy solution), or get textured paint - similar to what is often used on walls and ceilings - in a suitable color for a basecoat, then drybrush the 'grass' color on over that (for a solution involving a bit more work).

EDIT: Or do what chromedog said, his ideas sound better!

I would highly recommend checking out Zuzzy mats also - they are tops.

The new GW battlemat (the cloth backed one) is pretty damned durable and not too expensive either.

I believe a lot of people mix green paint with saw dust to make flock for tables. http://www.miniwargaming.com/content/ADQ4feRNWmA1
