Ok here is a question for an idea I have. Is it possible to have ranks of just one model with full command. What I want to do it use a unit of phoenix guard with korhil to make them stubborn and hold up a powerful unit of troops with it. Since korhil is a character he has to be in the back out of harms way and cannot be challenged or attacked. So he makes the unit stubborn while the phoenix guard hold up an enemy formation with there 4+ ward save and only a small amount of models able to attack them a turn.

You can be challenged; all that is required for a challenge to be possible is that you are in a unit that is fighting.

I believe the character still has to be in base to base conact to be challenged.

In any case though I can refuse and I still give the unit stubborn. Only the leadership does not get passed on.

Nope, unit has to be in combat, nothing else. You can be flanked, NOT make way! with your character and they are stil a legal target for the challenge. Reduces peoples chances to hide from combat.

Ypu can accept with the unit champion though.
