Hi there,

I have a tournament in a couple weeks, first time I go to that store but I know its quite competititve (some would say even WAAC).

Knowing DA isn't the most competitive army, here is my list:

1 x Belial w/claws
1 x Sarge, Heavy flamer/ PF, Banner w/ claws, Claws, TH/SS
1 x LRC - all this is supposed to be a mobile threat, playing mid table and basically drawing heat and attention.
4 x Sarge, HF/PF, SB/CF, Claws, TH/SS
2 x Vindicator
2 x 1 LS Typhoon/HB - my missiles are the old ones, only 1 shot and it only get the blast (S5)
1 x 1 LS MM/HF

I've played a bit with the list, its fairly decent results-wise vs average players... but does poorly vs good players.

Usually the idea is to get the vindicators into cover turn 1 or even 2 and cover key areas (objectives, alleys) with them.

If necessary, I'll keep Belial Squad in DS in order to get 3 squads in turn 1 for DWA.

The LS... I've tried 3 Typhoons and they work decently vs high body count. I'm thinking about going for 2 + 1 MM/HF because I feel I lack options to crack open AV12+.

However, the CF spam works quite nice, since people tend to consider infantry as a "no-threat" for their heavies.

I'd appreciate feedback, taking into account the following:

- 5 terminator squads are a must. Its part of my fluff and don't want to take any away.
- LRC+2 vindicators seem to work nicely with my style, which usuall goes for a "static" (can move every turn and still shoot most of its weapons) fire base along with heavy duty scoring troops and mobile swarm cleaning.

Fire away your expertise

Given Deathwing, you already know you're behind the 8 ball.

Since TH/SS ain't regular marine SS with the 3++, I'd just run PFists with StormBolters, and the occasional AC or HF. You may as well have the shootiness.

The LRC should have EA to deliver one set of termies. The MM is available, yes? Buy that too.

Get 'em 'blades. You don't want to have an intervening piece of terrain to provide enemies Cover versus your great AP2 weapon, so you'll want to be able to go through terrain, unless the TOs run terrain light tables.

Thanks for the reply

I take the TH because of the side-effects: stunning vehicles and lowering to ini 1 multi-wound models. Its a desperate resource to try and hammer a daemon prince, but if I get assaulted, at least its another option.

My LRC has TL AC, MM and hurricane bolters for 250 points. EA I'd like, but I don't know where to take the points from, since everything is with its bare minimum (except the terminators that get the CF and the HF for 10 points).

Im not 100% sure, but I think I have siege shield from the start, no need to buy (if someone check with the codex id appreciate, I don't have it on me now). Anyway, no terrain will give LOS cover, since ordenance cover is taken from above the blast, not checking LOS.

How about the 3 LS? 2 typhoon/HB + 1 MM/HF or 3 typhoon/HB or 3 MM/HF or whatever combination?

I'm gonna cry... dry up my tears, bite hard and growl

Mech Eldar IS a pain, but that is where 2 vindicators come into play, to pop the transports.

Fire Dragons are priority #1 for vindicators and when out of the transport, speeders will throw even their lunchboxes.

Also, CF along with PF and TH do fairly well vs AV12.

My main concern are the LS. Since my Tyhpoon is only 1 TL blast, is works poorly.

I'v been thinking going to MM/HB... but that decreases my range, which I really like. And most lateral AV is 10... and LS can move quite a bit... so I ought to get some 1 glancing or better per LS.

TBH, I'm more concerned about 4 wolves in rhinos with double plasma than eldar.

In anihilation, I'll just reserve EVERYTHING and hope for bad rolls... my army is small and not too mobile, but they are a tough nut to crack.

Ideas?

70+ reads... I know most people will not be specially thrilled about my list, but I'd really appreciate food for thought.

Thanks.
