I started playing 40k with the black reach set. This is before I learned about the joy of magnets and switching weapons.
Does anyone have any recomedations with what tool to cut arms off that have been painted? I just want to take them off at the connecting point so I can put megnets in. If I use a Exacto knife it would leave a big gap from where I started cutting. Only thing I can think of maybe is to then use greenstuff? would suck to have to repaint 20 orks at the joint...

What do you need to magnetize on these guys? I can't think of anything. Black Reach models are so freaking cheap on eBay it'd be cheaper and easier just to buy the 20 Orks for 10 bucks or whatever.

If you used superglue you can remove the arms quite easily using a sculpting tool to gently lever the arm up.

If you used plasitc glue such as contacta professional or smilar where the plastic is melted slightly you probably won't get that off. You can always, very very gently try smilar to superglued arms to see if it does come away but if you've glued properly the joint will be quite solid.

The thing is, most of your Orks would have the same weapons so they don't really need magnets as they'll never change, you might only need to do a couple, rather than all of them. if you cut anywhere other than the exact joint line, your new arms won't fit so well so will give you additional problems.
