Aun'va is a Tau Ethereal
A normal Tau etheral gets a honor-gaurd of Vetren FWs with increased BS for a slightly higher price
and get "Inspiring presence" which allows all Tau with LOS to the Ethereal to re-roll fudged moral checks
Aun'va comes with two ethereal honorgaurds
and has "Supremely Inspiring Presnce" which makes all Tau with LOS Stubborn
Are his bonuses completely separate from a normal etheral? or do they stack?

Im pretty sure his "replace" a normal Ethereals stuff,
Since his power is a better version of inspiring presence, It would replace it no?

IT replaces it. And makes the space pope even less useful than a normal ethereal.

It's actually far worse...
But yes those rules replace the standard Ethereal rules which as nos has pointed out have madce him even worse than a normal Ethereal but at least you get to pay 205 points for something that makes your army worse whilst he's alive and then half of it runs away when he's dead...

Space Pope is best Pope!
But as said, it replaced the normal guard and cements the Space Pope as the worst unit in 40k.

Careful, melissia will be here to mention a particularly scantily clad SoB unit if you say that Gwar!
Yes, space pope (dave) is the least good unit in 40k. Not entirely sure WHAT they were smoking when they came up with him, but I bet it wasnt for "medicinal" purposes....

It would be good if mr space pope had some insane orbital bombardment or a massive uberguard of honorguard or makes all tau fearless and stubborn in melee OR SOMETHING! RAWRAWRAWR.
Hes quite crap, ad 205 points? seriously?
Id love to vindicare one in the face on turn 1 and watch 25% of the firewarriors run of the board, thatd be awesome.
Also, nosferatu do you mean sister repentia? they arent that bad are they? like their bad, but not as bad as a space pope!

Yes, repentia ARE terribad, as they have no inv save, cant ride transports, arent faithful (the repentia bit) and always strike last in combat. If they ever make ti there. Which they wont.
Still, I think even Melissa agreed that the pope is worse...

More like 50% (they're only Ld7) but you wouldn't want to do that anyway. You take out the space pope after your initial charge. That way when you win those combats but don't wipe out the units they are now Ld10 and stubborn so don't run. You wipe them out in their turn and he can no longer shoot at you as his stubborn army has stayed in combat. Then when you get to charge again in your turn to kill him so what is left (which will be largely out of transports by this point in the game) will half run away leaving you to mop up the other half .

So anyways, Aun'Va's rules are all he receives. He could only have other ethereal rules if it was mentioned in his profile, but instead he gets his own worse honorguard and worse 'presence' rule. Just worse.

Bottom line, is he sucks now.
on a related note, can i take the Anuva model and have him 'count as' a normal Etheral?
and does the +1 BS bonus that the FW honorgaurd gets stackable with the Shas'ui's stat boost?

Clear it with your opponent pre-game and have a regular Ethereal in case he or she objects.

To quote page 33 of the codex: "These Veteran Fire Warriors cost an additional _ points over the basic cost, and each benefits from +1 Ballistic Skill, but otherwise have the same unit size, weapons, and options." (edited to remove point costs)
Yes, you can still take a Shas'ui, and yes, the Shas'ui still gets +1 BS.

Hey. I think Hans and Frans are pretty Kick ass. Aun'va is such a Gangsta that He has Ethereal Bodyguards and his model is just full of space pope win. Only his rules suck.
