Starting a escalation tourney in Oct and decided on Empire.

For the 1k ive decided on:

Captain of the Empire - 75
Sword of Might
Full Plate
Shield

Battle Wizard - 100
Lv 2 (Life of Fire)

30 Halberdiers w/ Full Command - 260
15 Swordsmen as Detachment

21 Hanngunners - 233
10 Free Company as Detachment

8 Knightly Order w/ Musician + Standard - 232

1 Great Cannon - 1000

Puts me exactly at 1000

One thing I do wonder is to have a block of Swordsmen w/ Halberds detach or vice versa?
Also would removing Knights to have a few more Handgunners? or even Pistoliers?

Any input would be most welcome!

I havent had that much success with missile troops this edition, most of the time your on 5's and 6's to hit alot more often with cover etc, also 10 free company as a detachment wont serve any real threat as 1 dead models stops them disrupting.

Keep the knights and give them great weapons for free there really good.

If your playing alot of skaven/elfs take a mortar there gold you will get your points back with one hit.

Texas

Drop the knights to 6 models and use them to support halberds. I would swap out the captain for either a Warrior Priest or a BSB. maybe lower the hand gunners or split them into 2 units.

Death-Dealing Dark Angels Devastator




USA

Do not take pistoliers, they can't hit anything. I've been having some success with swordsmen paired with halbadier detachments. A BSB would also help, the reroll for leadership tests are really helpful.
