Hi Aerethan, I'm probably biased cause this is how I like to play High Elves but I like the army, but my one comment is: no Banner of Sorcery? You can probably make room by removing the Banner of Arcane Protection from your spearmen and maybe the Guardian Phoenix on your Noble? But then again that is a pretty arbitrary thing and probably won't make much difference which way you go.

Also I'm interested to know what lores you plan to take for the wizards!

I haven't yet gone over all the lores in depth, but likely Death on the mage and life on the prince.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think you can only choose one weapon from the basic weapons choices for your Prince. But I'm at work right now, so I don't have my HE army book. It looks pretty good.

Ranged weapons do not count as one of your weapons unless they changed it this edition.

To further back up my choice, the Longbow is listed in "Additional Equipment" along with the shield.

You are correct that you may only choose 1 melee weapon though.

Interesting. I see you've gone for the Warrior-Mage setup. While I would normally prefer to see our fragile Lords with a Ward Save of some sort, it can't really be helped. I forget though...is the old restriction of being unable to cast while wearing armor still around? (honestly don't recall).

I'm surprised you didn't give the BSB a GW as well (may as well), though you're now forced to use that in CC as opposed to having a choice.

Personally, I feel like those Spear Elf blocks look a little fragile. So far, I've rarely had my Spearelves get through a game without heavy losses, and I run 30-strong blocks. I agree with Stoopyface on his comment about the Banner of Arcane Protection. Given that you want to make use of the Book of Hoeth as much as possible, the Banner of Sorcery would be more beneficial to you to assure that you have a decent dice-pool to get off IF spells.

Given that this force is heavily focused on defense and killing off the enemy with Magic (more likely than not), I would save yourself 20 points by dropping the musicians off the Dragon Princes. These guys should rarely be taking on anything but really depleted small enemy units or flank-attacking something engaged by one of your infantry blocks, so the bonuses of the Musician won't generally be needed. You could invest the points instead on getting the Banner of Sorcery.
