I am trying to decide on Weapon for my BA Assualt Squads [I am usually fighting MEQ's Orcs and Nids.

Flamer Pistol: Good Coverage, but low Strength
or
Infernus Pistol: Great Strength and AP Poor Range
or
Plasma Pistol: Good Strength and AP, Gets Hot [I am not Concered with Gets hot, so to me its not a factor]

And how to use each would also be nice

I've always been a fan of the Hand Flamer. You get an Ap6 template which will kill Gaunts on 4+ and Boyz on a 5+ with no saves, yet still gives you the extra attack for two CCWs.

I personally like the Plasma pistols, they can wound high tough creatures, and low AV/Transports pretty well. i find the Infernus Pistol range challenged.

Infernus. great for tanks if you have a free sergeant

I like the plasma pistol, it is basically just a bolt pistol on steroids and can actually threaten vehicles.

Hand flamer I've had no experience with. Must change that...

Infernus is range challenged but if you can fire it, you basically guarantee a kill and since it's so short range that means you're in charge range!

Currently I use Plasma Piatols with my Plasma Spam Lists.
I just was wondering how the others worked before modeling.

Any one have some Tactical Advice for the Infernus.

I have used and will use all three, but If I have to chose I'll go with Melta 90% of the time. But then again Melta is to me as Plasma is to Anpu, so...

In a full Assault squad I give the Sergeant a hand flamer,
while in a min-sized squad I tend to give him an infernus pistol (besides the obligatory melta).

Melta is far more beneficial on assault marines, plus you save 10pts over 2 plasma pistols. In full size squads the sarge doesnt necessarily need a special pistol, but in min sized squads I often take an infernus in addition to the melta the squad is usually toting. Makes your tank killing probability go from iffy to fairly reliable.

I just dont like the hand flamer for its ap6, str3 isnt too bad, but considering your giving pretty much everyone saves (even guardsmen get their 5+ armor ) and you normally take flamers to ignore cover I just dont like it too much.

No special weapons? Ditch those plasma pistols asap, go with meltaguns instead. You loose 2 attacks, but gain the best anti-tank available, and they are also better in every other aspect compared to the plasma pistol

Do not take a combat shield, totally useless.
