Hi, I'm thinking about what would be the best ork infantry army list (basically no units with an armour value). Here's my best attempt, using some slightly more uncommon units.

HQ

Warboss on warbike with PowerKlaw and Cybork Body 135 (for smashing tanks)

Elites

5x Lootas 75 (light vehicle killers)

Troops

29x Ork Boyz including a Nob with Bosspole and PowerKlaw 214
29x Ork Boyz including a Nob with Bosspole and PowerKlaw 214 (charge forward and get stuck in and take enemy fire)
28x Ork Boyz with shootas including a Nob with Bosspole and PowerKlaw 208 (for dealing with other orks, chaos daemons etc.)
12x Ork Boyz with shootas, big shoota and including Nob with bosspole 92 (for sitting on objectives without runnin away)

Fast Attack

11x Stormboyz including Nob with Powerklaw and Bosspole 172 (to be kept out of sight behind my mobs or cover and engage tanks or targets of opportunity and give me more flexibility as their charge range is awesome)
5x Warbikers including Nob with PowerKlaw and Bosspole 165
5x Warbikers including Nob with PowerKlaw and Bosspole 165 (warbikes provide anti infantry/light vehicle fire support and engage weak units)

Heavy Support

3x Kannon Big gunz 60 (cheap anti vehicle fire support)

Total pointz: 1500

I'm not sure whether there should be more lootas instead of the kannons or whether some of the warbikez should be swapped for something different please say what you would change and why.

Fully Painted Armies: 2200pts Orks 1000pts Space Marines 1200pts Tau 2500pts Blood Angels 3500pts Imperial Guard/Renegades and 1700pts Daemons 450pts Imperial Knights

Ok if I had a simple Tactical Squad, I would be letting off more than 15 shots which would be instantly killing your guys on a 4+ because you wouldn't get a save. Footslogging mobs without a Trukk or a KFF will only result in smoking Ork corpses. Drop the Warboss and take a Mek or two both with a KFF. Drop one unit of Warbikers and the Kannons and take some Killa Kans instead, which are much more manuverable and tougher than Big Gunz.

Overall buddy, I like your thinking...

I play a foot slogging army myself and particuarly like the boss on the bike which I hadn't thought of before. Do you keep him in the units then fly him off once he has a vehicle in sight, or turbo boost him on his own, or with the other bikes.

I do, however agree with the comment before that a Big Mek with cheese is vital when slogging it. Some peopel even consider 2 a must, especially with lash of submission all over the place.

A few other things that you may want to consider:

You have included 5 lootas for 'light vehicle killers', which I think you mean a Rhino and everything less. With 5 lootas, on avearge you will get 5 shots 3 hits and a definite 1 hit on the damage table shooting a rhino, perhaps not enough to guarantee destroying those rhinos. I would vote for 10 lootas which is virtually a definite destroyed or immobalised. The other reason for taking 10 is defending against scouting units etc that may get into the lootas. At the end of the day they are still an ork and 10 in cover is still difficult to shift.

The only other thing would be the use of the bikes and storm boyz. I understand your tactics and think they are valid. My only point would be that if I was playing with my other army IG, I would initially think, 'oh dear' no tanks to shoot for my big guns. This would be quickly replaced by, 'wait a minute it's ok, cause I have those bikes and stormies to hit, which is not a bad second place given the points they cost'. Without them, using a lascannon to take out a 6 point ork would be pretty frustrating.

Definately not the "ultimate" ork infantry list. Has lack of ranged anti tank and no KFF which means dead Orks.

Easy fix. Add a Big Mek, well two actually so you don't have two small units of Bikes speeding ahead just to deliver one or two power klaws. Get another Loota unit, give all your Boyz rokkits and get some Gretchin too to put in front of the Boyz so the Grots get 5+ and the Boyz get 4+ cover.

Something like this:

Big Mek - KFF

Big Mek - KFF

5 x Lootas

5 x Lootas

30 x Boyz - 3 x rokkits - Nob w/ power klaw & bosspole

30 x Boyz - 3 x rokkits - Nob w/ power klaw & bosspole

30 x Boyz - 3 x rokkits - Nob w/ power klaw & bosspole

30 x Boyz - 3 x rokkits - Nob w/ power klaw & bosspole

30 x Grots - 3 x Runtherds

30 x Grots - 3 x Runtherds

Now that's a much better "ultimate" infantry list as has cover saves for all units and some get 4+. You've got mass ranged anti tank too. Oh, please check points on that because I haven't.
