I mean look at the IG dex. There is obviously a lack of concern for human life. And these are important men! Not some random factory worker.

Each person in the imperium is worth exactly one lasbolt.

It would likely depend on the person, planet their on, background etc to buy them as a slave. I'm guessing though that an individual that hasn't anything of note in their background or skills to speak of is worth less than a lasgun.
