My realm... I mean room.

Hello, I have a problem, today I bought DOW2. (I have Chaos Rising too)

Okay so when I were going to install it I pressed 'English' as my language, then install the game. Nothing happened.... Now when I press the play button I get sent to the game's steam page. And when I try to uninstall the game, nothing happens.... Chaos Rising as I said before didn't have any problems.
I have tried to uninstall Chaos Rising and then uninstall DOW2 as it said I couldn't uninstall DOW2 because Chaos Rising uses data from that game.... nothing happens anyway.

Could someone help me or should I get a new cd? Stupid STEAM.

Control Panel / Uninstall a program / (wait for the page to finish loading) Find DOW2 and Right Click / Press uninstall.

Then Reinstall.

Well I have a XP, but yes I tried going to the control panel, but the DOW2 wasn't there. The only thing with DOW2 on it was Chaos Rising.

Try this if you haven't already. I make a few guess as to how the game is stored on your hard drive, but I assume DoWII and DoWII Chaos Rising have separate program folders. EDIT: These files should be in the Steam folder under steam apps --> common

1. Uninstall Chaos Rising (if you can't just skip to step two, both do the same thing)
2. See if there is still a Chaos Rising file on your harddrive
3. Delete it
4. See if there is a DoW II file
5. Delete it
6. Go to your documents
7. Check it to see if there are any DoWII related files there, like in my games
8. Delete them

9. Keep deleting until you're sure you've deleted all the DoWII related files

10. Empty your recycle bin

Now reinstall

Often you'll notice with games, that even after you've uninstalled the program files, some files relating to it remain on your hard drive. If you have persistent problems that uninstall/reinstall doesn't fix, delete every file you can find related to the program and try that. It may not fix the problem all the time but it's worked for me before.

I will try that. Time to uninstall Chaos again then.

Thank's for the help.
