Hi fellow Dakkites I'm not sure where this should go so I'm gonna put it in YMDC because its not to clear in the Codex.
Here it is! When using IG Infantry Platoons is the PCS attached to the Infantry Platoon or is it a seperate entity. Also do all the squads need to be given Vox Casters to benefit from the Vox Caster rule or can I just give it to the PCS (assuming the answer to the last question is its attached)? Likewise if the PCS isn't attached to the Platoon then do I need to give each squad a Vox Caster or can I give one squad a Vox Caster and have them all benefit from it since they act as a single unit?
Thanks for answering my questions guys and sorry for the possible noobish sound of them. I am new to IG in this addition I played them a lot with the old Codex but this Saturday will be my first time with the new one.

Each entry under that section is its own squad. Only squads with the Vox caster benefit from this rule, for anyone to benefit the PCS or even better the CCS needs to have the Vox caster as well. They don't all act as a single unit, so this question is a little off. Are you getting confused about the Combined Squads rule? Because that's optional.

Every squad that wants to benefit has to have a vox.

Yeah I was getting confused about the combined squads rule sorry about that. I thought that if the PCS was part of the squad and it had a Vox Caster then all the squads its attached to would get the benefit of the Vox assuming the CCS had a Vox too. I kinda see where I was wrong though. However does the PCS combine with the Platoon if I do a combined squad? Oh and another question in the Storm Trooper entry it says, "The Storm Trooper Sergeant may exchange his hot-shot laspistol and/or hot-shot lasgun for: Bolt Pistol or Boltgun, Power Weapon, Plasma Pistol." Does this mean that I can give him either a Bolt Pistol, Boltgun, Power Weapon, or Plasma Pistol? Or can I give him a Bolt Pistol, Boltgun, Plasma Pistol (for ranged), AND a Power Weapon (for close combat)?

Only the infantry squads combine. The command squad, heavy weapon squads and special weapon squads can not combine.

Ok just what I thought but I wasn't sure thanks for clearing that up Dakka! Now the only question I have left is about the Stormtroopers.

Whatever said question is the answer is simple:
Leave them at home.
You can find out why by perusing topics in the tactics forum, or asking why there yourself.

YOu can replace BOTH of the Upgrade characters weapons (the and / or) part to have a plasma pistol AND a power weapon if you want. However they are huuuge point sinks so be wary of giving them too much kit - suicide plain squads work the best (of a bad entry)
