Oh there's strong rumours knocking around that the new Quest is going to be Nurgle vs Cities themed. Apparently Nurgle in general is getting a massive wave this time around.

A new Quest game is exciting but Nurgle just isn't my cup of tea. Hopefully there could be Sylvaneth in the mix though...

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

went for Ushoran, Vhordrai would be 2nd for me.

Yeah, Ushoran for me too, followed by Vhordrai and then in 3rd the lioness ( easily the best manticore from any line of miniatures)

He was an age of sigmar release, hence no slaanesh head since she was locked up by the aelves.

He's not my taste either, but the Cities side has my attention. Preferably without the cockup that happened with Cursed City.

Depends on how the Nurgle forces look like. I don't like the comically look of much of the ranges (AoS and 40k) - but if they're more like the Harbinger of Decay, the Warcry guys and with stuff like diseased flagellants and plague zombies it could be good.

Nurgle often gets a lot of good love from GW with models. They aren't my cup of tea either, but Gw really does have some great designs for them.

Nurglites benefit a lot from a fitting paintjob, which is not something they're going to get from the 'Eavy Metal team. I find it's rarely the sculpt itself that makes them look comical but a paintjob aimed at clearly and unambiguously showing every detail of the model.

It would be great if there was a picture of each option for those of us that don’t know every miniature by name. I’m sure there are some great miniatures I don’t remember

Same here. I went with the Archregent because I recognized the name and like the model a lot. Half of the names on the list mean nothing to me and I'm definitely not going to trawl GW's lovely webstore in search for pictures.

Archaon came out in 2014, with the End Times: Archaon book.

Wrong and wrong.

The ET: Archaon book came out in March 2015, and it did not come with a new Archaon model. The current Archaon model came out after AoS was launched.

You are correct. Just dug out the White Dwarfs. Archaon would have come out December 2015, having been announced for pre-order 28 November 2015. That'll teach me for checking my recollection on the internet. I'll correct my previous post.

I dont like the prospect of a quest game that has Nurgle and Cities matchup.

Dont mind the factions at all, but the quest games are better with a themed villain (nurgle) but the questing adventurers should be more uniqe or different models apart from the main factions.
Great opportunity to try out new concepts instead of doing a themed gang of CoS dudes (especially since CoS have been de-diversified from a hotpot of free peoles and races to become human army guys).

Ok, if they do a team of army veterans that go awol to make an unsanctiond raid in to nurgle territory to capture a reserv of chaos dwarf gold I might buy it.

Ushoran is just such an amazing sculpt. Background is just icing on the cake.

Cities covers a lot of ground though, especially with all of the aelf and duardin options that feel like they should appear in a Quest game. They've not really tackled much of the non-humans who live in the Cities yet, and this seems an ideal situation to expand it out. An Aelf financier and Duardin pub-poet etc

Yeah, I'd love to get one, but can't justify it until I've shifted a lot of back log. Maybe next year.

I just wish I liked the rest of the ghoul range. Ushoran has definite flair and looks like a fallen king, unfortunately the rest of the range lacks a unified aesthetic that makes them believable as knights, footmen and the court of a fallen civilization. I really wish they had more armour, trinkets and iconography that made them read as a unified whole instead of just poking bones anywhere and everywhere.

I know I'm not the only one who absolutely hates Ushoran. Like he looks cool straight on, but that's not what you get to see on the tabletop. From above he's just a great big meatball.

That's kind of the point. It's how they see themselves, not how everyone else sees them. The bones and gristle being their weapons and armour. Ushoran himself isn't actually insane, or at least no where near to what he presents himself as.
