I'm a brand new player, i'm splitting an Island of Blood with a friend from my game place.
I'm wondering how skaven plays??

Well, I've been told.

I've only played against them (and that was with the IoB box at GW) so can't say much more.

what was your experience against it?

From what I know about them the basic playstyle/strategy is to distract the enemy with disposable infantry then try (emphasis on try) to blow them up with siege weapons.

Skaven play differently depending on what points level you are at. When you get to the higher points levels their magic and machines can really wreck havoc against most armies. They also can play a hord army and cover the table with more guys than the enemy can kill.

You can't go wrong with skaven, unless you try to paint every model in your army...then you'll go nuts.

You can paint every model, just use a pray gun and make up a clan with brown fur brown eyes brown clothes and brown weapons.

BODIES

Get a truckload of slaves and then use them as sacrifices for your weapon teams/guns/machines/monsters to get on attacking

Expect for some units not to be 100% reliable but hilarious

You could always lead the great gray army like my imp guard, 6000 points, haven't even started painting. Skaven are a great army, get a ton of plague monks and a plague furnace.
