Hey everybody! I just finished my first commission, which was a big lot of urban-schemed Imperial Guard for Spikes, here on Dakka. There's about 45 guys in total, including a funky gun turret thing. I started these guys near the end of July, so it's good to have them done. Anyway, here's the pictures:

All of the commission except the gun turret:

Missile launcher teams:

Turret and more troopers:

Command squad:

These guys were pretty interesting to paint - I've never worked on Pig Iron heads before, and never done a scheme like this. I tend to stick to brighter colors since I'm a fan of old 'Eavy Metal paintjobs from the 90s. I'm a little sad to see them go, but I hope they manage to kick some xeno ass on the tabletop!

Next up is an Imperial Fists army for the same client. Once I get the materials for it, you'll see them pop up in my commission thread: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/307261.page

I have to say, when I heard "urban" Imperial guard I was a bit skeptic. However, I think you totally pulled it off, looks great!

The skin looks a bit too red/orange imo. If it was intended to be like that for the red in the urban camo, then thats a crap load of warpaint/blood. Lmao

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

Armies I may get: Dark Angels, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts

It's a little less red in person, but it's still very, very warm. There's also no red in the camo; I have no idea what you're looking at. I pitched a second skin tone to my client, but he liked this one better - personally I like it too. It keeps things from looking too dull, which an all grey army can be,

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

I agree with ya on this one SRM, it kinda breaks up the monotony of all the neutral colors. Now go make more cartoons!

If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.
