Are boarding planks need now that we have Deff rollas?

Now that rollas can hurt tanks do we really need both on the same wagon? I have been running them as a back up but have not found them very useful and wonder if the points could be better spent?

Depends on your playstyle. If you want to keep your boyz inside the BWs all safe like, put a powerklaw inside the BW and get a free swing at the enemy.

Although, if you do take a boarding plank, get a grabbing claw as well (or by itself), as you can immobilize an enemy for a turn AND get a free powerklaw swing as well.

Pretty much this. Either take a bunch of things that will help the plank and keep the boyz inside or just roll with the deff rolla

You could always have your BW converted so that the boarding plank will fall over the deff rolla so that you can get both the deff rolla hit and powerklaw

OP Yes! They cost a measly 5 points so why not? If a Deffrolla fails (there are a lot of rolls so it is quite possible) why not backed it up with a KLAW!!

Truks can't take deffrollas, so if you're going to play with truks then boarding planks are still needed.

I was talking about taking them both on wagons. Lol after a very long game last night I found then very useful on skimers.

Once you use planks, you will never play w/o them again!

They are just that useful, especially on Rolla BWs. There is nothing like ramming one vehicle and smacking the one next to it with a Nob's/Warboss' PK attaks - all w/o ever leaving the BW

I like boarding planks on my battlewagons becuase I sit my Big Mek with his PK/KFF inside and he never gets out, but he can still slap vehicles around with his boarding plank.

Boarding planks on my trukks is mandatory for me
