when you get irresistible force, you get miscast. So the spell is cast automatically. The lore of shadow attribute says that when I successfully cast a lore of shadow spell I can "swap" places with another character within 18".

My tactic has been to put wizards in my block of troops and have horde killing generals and battle standard bearers walking close by, this way I can swap my battle standard bearer to whatever squad needs him the most. What I'm wondering about is if I roll that double 6 does the order go

1. resolve spell

2. teleport wizard

3. resolve miscast

This is the way I've been playing it so far and when I roll a 7 for miscast nothing ends up happening thanks to this trick (except I lose the rest of my power dice). Is this the right order or are step 2 and 3 supposed to be the other way around?

You are correct, resloving the attribute is part of resolving the spell.

Spell process: per page 32
"Spell will be cast automactically, cannot be dispelled, but the wizard has to roll on the miscast table when the spell has been resolved."

IE cast spell, resolve effects first, then with shadow your alternate effects would trigger, IE the wizard can swap places with a friendly character of the same troop type within 18 inches."

Here's my question: you should only be "swapping" the wizard with the BSB, and swapping the BSB to the wizards squad. This should not involve moving the BSB to a unit that does not have the original wizard in it. Your not moving the bsb randomly around the board are you? You referred "where ever he's needed the most." He can only go to where the original casting wizard is at.

That's not really a question but I agree. I normally take 2-3 wizards with lore of shadow so that the BSB can bounce around.

So how is this mage casting a signature spell on a 3+? I'm curious about the implementation of with bsb having shadows when restricted to lore of tzeentch. Or are you refering the Tzeentch spell.
